Funny, I saw your comment in the Slint shoutbox and then I see your comments pop up in two other unrelated shoutboxes all within an hour or so. Must the Lovecraft pic catching my eye. Anyway if you're looking for Slinty vocals. try June of 44 or Rodan they're quite similar. Also Unwound. Their song "Kantina" for example has a bit of a Slint vibe to the vocals. And there's always Codeine of course.

Yes, Tame Impala is what you are looking for. Except with John Lennon instead of Neil Young. listen to the Bold Arrow of Time and Flow

Thanks, I'll check them out as soon as I'm in the mood. ;P Starting with Melvins, which one of the other bands would you recommend the most?

Yeah the vocals are quite strange, fits the character of Comus though, just takes time to get used to.

Yeah, I've never listened to much Acid King, I suppose it was because I was so obsessed with Electric Wizard at the time and then moved onto the heavier stuff in the stoner music genre so sort of bypassed a lot of the rockier music. I've not been listening to much stoner music recently, only Ramesses really and they fucking destroy. Will check them out, dude, give them another try.

Hey, cheers, man, for some reason I never checked out Family Tree which I really need to. Yeah, Elliott Smith produced great stuff. I would highly recommend the musician Devendra Banhart, particularly the albums 'Rejoicing in the Hands' and 'Cripple Crow'. It's not too similar to Elliott Smith but his stuff is equally addictive and a bit weirder/more eclectic.

glad you enjoy it. and how d'you like heroin?

it's cool man. oh, and i forgot about Heroin & Your Veins. sounds like sth between Dale Cooper and Earth. the atmosphere is "dale'ish", but the main instrument is guitar, like in Earth. it is a finnish one-man project and their first album is really stunning. other ones are also great. you should find them in teh internetz too ;)

Also try Miles Davis' Bitches Brew, a classic one and even if I'm not a big Earth knower so far I think that also could be good...

Yeah, I mean, I kind of figured it wasn't exactly what you were looking for, but it's the closest thing I could think of matching the description of "jazzy Earth." Actually, I discovered that particular album from an interview with Carlson, it's one of his top favorite albums. but Davis is great, his live album Live Evil is great, too. I mean, it's not really ambient or anything, but it's good, haha. Twin Peaks is a great show, but be prepared to be completely let down if you watch the whole series. it was canceled before they came to a conclusion and you're left with hanging.

no problem, I hope you enjoyed it, it's a beautiful album. that picture is from Twin Peaks, it's a great/weird show by David Lynch and Mark Frost.

I don't heard about this band before but i listen it now and "Glory To The Gods In The Highest" is totally great. Just like Coven, Pentangle and Steeleye Span together.
