This is really good - and ignore the tags last.fm has for them they are not accurate at all. My friend termed it best with this statement: "it's just more dissonant technical death metal, with nods to noise rock and blemishes of the mathcore scene". It's pretty slow chaotic sounding in most songs.// BTW I know you already seem to be a member of some forum on some other website that may or may not be about music, but you might be interested in checking this group out. It's fun and we have plug.fm sessions here and there :].

Morning mate! Thanks for the heads up, but I missed out your show this time, but as I have the link now I am going to check it out another day. The TGOO is pretty awesome and has been on repeat yesterday and looks like it's going to continue today. I wasn't much of a fan of the debut, but this slays hard now. Another fantastic year ahead with new material from Agalloch, Wolves In The Throne Room, Primordial and many more

I will, just having a hard time making room for my old favorites (which for some reason i've been doing a lot lately) keeping up with new releases, and recommendations, it's hard being a music nerd :(

You seem to be such a huge Modest Mouse fan but you only have 1 Ugly Casanova play? He has fun on the banjo in it. Listen to this.

OH MAN JAY MUNLY! Instant fan today. He's like the country-ish version of Tom Waits.

Try Toubab Krewe first before the "jam band" tag scares you away ;). The 2 songs I linked you show their diversity well.

(If you don't already know The Civil Wars, maybe your wife might like it. It's pretty adorable that it is a couple duet...at least I think they are a couple...don't quote me on that but I think I read that.)

Also both you and extra pressure/recommendation from another friend I am getting into Virgin Black. They have so much good material to absorb.

(cut&paste description of live Toubab Krewe I already explained to another friend) "When I saw them live he played a gas-can guitar for a few songs, they had washboard strumming in some songs, and surprised the entire crowd with guest spot collaborations that are NOT featured on any of their studio albums: a quartet of jazz instruments for a few songs (saxophones and trumpets), as well as this really passionate/soulful spoken word dude for a few songs."

I think I can get into Jay Munley :). I can take on some country! An epiphany! Another one of my more active last.fm friends on here you've more than likely have seen in my shoutbox also showed me some The Civil Wars. I don't know how you feel about jam bands, but one of the coolest bands and hands down my favorite live show experience was with Toubab Krewe - they are a slew of different styles including hints of southern rock/country (except this song is a lot more than a hint) but they use a giant gamut of instruments: standard rock ones you would except but also African instruments and some homemade instruments like here he is playing a cigar-box guitar.

LOL the immediate beginning of this recording with your wife[?] doing the a'cappella guitar already has me laughing. :)

Wow you must be psychic. I've been digging True Detective and immediately loved the theme song. Literally yesterday or the day before I proceeded to try out the full album that song "far from any road" is off of, and couldn't even get through the first 30 seconds of the first song… lol. Country music has made me cringe for most of my life. I had to be warmed up to Johnny Cash (who I really enjoy now) and took on country thanks to the progressive quality of bluegrass, personal narratives of folk, and southern rock like CCR (my mom got me into them).

I'm interested in that recorded hyperlink. Didn't get to catch it last night but curious to see what your wife picked :3

Hey I started a new group for music fanatics, the focus is going to be different than the ExMF and the frosty paradigm. It's a bit of an experiment but if a bunch of people get in it could be cool. Join if you are interested, cheers! http://www.last.fm/group/Unholy+Cult+of+the+Appraised+and+Damned

Plus I just watched Into The Wild over the weekend for like the 24th time and it makes me feel the feels ->every<- single ->time<- and then I listened to the awesome soundtrack for it [NO SHAME HATERS] that Eddie Vedder did :). *puts up dukes* Are you a Eddie/PJ hater;)?/// AND I just saw, I don't know how I missed it, the music video for "sextape" by Deftones recently. I consider myself a huge Deftones fan and somehow I missed it until now.

i have a metal radio show Wednesday nights

my soulseek username is vitreus as well. message me and i'll add you.

i hate it when i have my itunes on shuffle and the same artist plays back to back. come on.

i love it when i'm in the turn lane behind someone else, and for just a few seconds our blinkers blink simultaneausly. yes. i love that.

i hate it when a person refers to multiple items as a singularity. for example: "that will be 29 cent". no it will not be. you moron.

i love old turn-based strategy games. heroes of might and magic ii is one of the best games ever.

i hate it when people pronounce "guillotine" as if it were some sort of breathing mechinism for a fish.

i love the smell of a freshly cut lawn. there are few things more enjoyable.

i hate people who know how to spell and type correctly, but choose not to. lYk diS. and think AIM short hand is actually cool.

i love making fun of AIM shorthand.

i hate it when people list song before artist.

i love it when my mutual funds are up even when the DOW is down.

i hate drivers who 1)leave their blinker on after turning (especially on/off ramps...WHERE THE HELL ELSE ARE YOU GOING TO TURN?), and 2)people who don't use them at all. thanks asshole.

i love palindromes, especially numerically.

i HATE it when cigarette smokers bitch and moan about cigar smoke.
