I found you through looking for buddies in Michigan! I am not surprised we have the same taste in music being we are in the same music network! :) Every festival I go to you seem to be there anyway! I hope to see you soon and I will check out your photos on facebook tonight! :)

Hi Tobias, my name's Lauren. It's nice to meet you! I don't have his CDs - low on spending money at the moment, but I have a few songs, and I've listened to more online. I'm somewhat surprised by what quality music makes its way out of Michigan. Super fun show between Breathe Owl Breathe & Chris Dorman. Sounds like "Magic Central" is a wonderful place! I hope they come back!

Visiting the farm was great - you should really come out! Unfortunately, Chris had to stay in since his son was napping, but I'll go back. I think I first heard of Breathe Owl Breathe from a Paste magazine sample, and then I checked them out more once I saw they had a show nearby. Really (really) good stuff!

I saw him open for Breathe Owl Breathe earlier this fall at the Monkey House in Winooski, Vermont (I'm currently going to UVM). Coincidentally, I'm actually planning on visiting his farm tomorrow with a friend. It looks like a pretty neat spot! If I see him, I'll tell him about this little connection!

Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. Which I hear is actually where Daisy May is from.

The Earthworks Music Collective played on my campus for Earth Day in 2008 and 2009, and I loved it. I bought Chris Dorman's album after one of those shows. It's beautiful. What about you?

Hey there. I got a chance to see Jeremy (Small Houses) play a couple shows in Burlington, VT where I live, and have been a huge fan of his music since then.

Oh, I thought I told you. I live in Seattle. No I haven't checked out any more of Earthwork music yet. I plan on it though.

Nope, never seen them before. It's driving me crazy though. I wish they played here more often. I hate 21+ shows! They seem like they'd be really awesome live. And those capes! I just love everything about them. I've heard a little bit of Seth Bernard but not Steppin In It. I'll have to check them out. :)

Yeah I am a huge fan. They're just great. I was looking into going to the Pickathon music festival last year and saw that they were playing so I listened to their music and loved it. I'm jealous that you get to see them/know them. They don't come out this way too often, and the next time they're playing here, it's 21+ which is a huge bummer. I want to see them so bad.

Um, I live in Eastern Kentucky. Um, it's been so long since I first heard about them, that I can barely remember how I found them. My boyfriend most likely recommended Frontier Ruckus to me, actually. He loves them too. Their not a very heard of band.

by which of course I mean, their music is completely different, but has the same evocative quality and ability to capture succinct but beautiful and often poignant snapshots of the rural existence. The listening experience is like driving on a foggy road in the middle of the night, or offhandedly catching a glance through someone's window on your way past.

I live in the Lansing area where he went to college, and my sister saw him a few times when he lived here. I often like peaceful music these days, so his music suffices.

That's great! I have a similar situation/interaction with the Felice Brothers, and it's excellent. The Ruckus came to Brooklyn a few weeks ago, and I'd never heard of them, so I downloaded their catalog. While I got too sick to actually go to the show, I was super impressed with their work and am now a major proponent. They have a way of capturing the rural, under-poverty-level way of life ... I liken their music to if the Felice Bros. quit drinking so much and started baking cookies more.
