Sacramento Summer
(excerpt from the Afterword:) As for the music: again, this isn’t the whole soundtrack for my Sacramento Summer. With good reason too, as I can’t really fit four albums onto one CD. The artists were more or less randomly chosen the a few days before the trip started, with the exception of Two Door Cinema Club who I found while on the trip. I had remembered Oren Lavie’s “Her Morning Elegance” music video, and some of his other songs had come up to my attention. So I got the album and fell in love with it. Curious for more like him, I checked for similar artists, and Kings of Convenience was at the top of the list. I downloaded their most recent album and it struck a chord with me, no pun intended. The mellow vocals and the soft melodies entranced me and accentuated the calm nature of the city... Flakjakt was separate altogether.

freebietwenty -a collection/selection of free songs-
After tiring of my music collection for some time, I decided to look for some songs that I could download, legally, for free. Just so I could feel for what other kinds of music appeal to me. All the tracks on this mixCD were downloaded off of Spinner's "Free Mp3 of the Day." Again, I did the cover art, track listing, and CD design in Sharpie.

Afternoon or VERY early morn, VERY late night.
I made this CD on a boring summer afternoon in the middle of 2009. These were the songs that I had fallen in love with for some time now and I wanted to do something special. What isn't shown here are the art for the CD design and the track list, both done in Sharpie. The cover also was done in Sharpie. This was the first mixCD that I ever made and I didn't really expect to make more. I guess this was just to get my footing, in a sense.
