The documentary on Kill The House Lights is awesome. Really gives you an insight into the band's history. It's nice to see clips of them playing things live too. Jet Black New Year is one of my favourite songs by Thursday. They played it last when I saw them, superb way to end a gig :) I read your review of their gig, sounds like it was an amazing experience. When I saw them it was as support for Rise Against, so they only played 7 songs, but I think it was possibly 20 of the best minutes of my life. Their energy when they play live is just stunning. They really captivate you. I'd love to see them again, when they're the headlining band, but unfortunately their appearances in England tend to be rather few and far between. I found that Common Existence is a little like aCbtLD. Its a bit over-produced and clean. I do love their more raw, natural sound. I do love Common Existence, but it feels a little like they're moving away from old Thursday. Maybe I should embrace Nu-Thursday? Hmm :)

Grr! doesn't give you enough space to write and I say a lot! I just wanted to ask whether you'd heard the extra tracks on Common Existence - Fake Nostalgia is one of the best songs Thursday have ever written, and should've replaced Circuits of Fever on the album, in my opinion :)

As far as Thursday are concerned, that's a lot harder. I love all of their albums -so- much. I tend to flit between War All The Time, Full Collapse and A City By The Light Divided. I think because Full Collapse was the first one I heard, I'll always have a kind of, link with it. But every single song on WatT and aCbtLD move me so much. I love the raw emotion poured into Waiting, but it doesn't quite do it for me as much as the other albums. I know what you mean about an emotional investment, I think that's what I did with Full Collapse. The video that you posted a link to, for Steps Ascending, I think that's on the DVD that comes with Kill The House Lights. It's weird how once you know the story behind a song, it can mean so much more to you. Its also strange how if you have a personal story behind a song, it means more too. When I saw Thursday, Geoff jumped into the crowd next to me whilst singing At This Velocity, so that song will always be a bit nostalgic for me now :)

I totally agree with you about The Fragile. Its the album that has everything, it's a perfect album. It feels like you're listening to the musical version of an epic movie. My favourite NIN songs from other albums would be Right Where It Belongs, And All That Could Have Been, March Of The Pigs, The Hand That Feeds and, of course, Closer ;)

Were you at the Appleseed Cast show last weekend at the Kathouse? I see them on your song history, wasn't sure if you were a fan.
