Thu 19 Feb – And So I Watch You From Afar, Maybeshewill, LaFaro, Wasp Display
Maybeshewill have undeniably just elevated to classic status with their two new tracks.
How to Have Sex with a Ghost was awesome, and the track afterwards defines them as a band. Easily. (perhaps even more than
Not for Want of Trying). When their new release comes out, you'll be no-doubt blown away. I can say this with total confidence.
The whole set was simply spectacular, playing a very well rounded compilation of newer tracks that sums up their current direction. They are definitely moving up the music food chain at an alarming rate.
This was a very good night.
Of course, I can't write a review of this night without mentioning And So I Watch You From Afar. Every single time I see this band live they just get better and better and better. If you ever get the chance to see them live, even if you're not familiar with their music (which you should be by now) You have to jump on the chance; This band is very well worth going to see and you won't regret it. Their stage performance is so characteristic of themselves that you have to see and hear it to believe it. This is a band that means business with their music, and beyond that- they're some of the nicest but sadly seemingly under-appreciated guys on the scene. So, get listening to their music! You really won't regret it.
Thanks to each of the bands that played tonight, Take care.
