    Holy shit that man's got a good voice. It's funny out all the vocal experimentation that's supposedly been goin' round these days, you'd think someone would bother going back to some voice as colourful as Holcomb's. Probably people focusin' on sounding aesthetically nice at first impression rather than being expressive or characteristic. And all the history just sits there, neh?

    I'm a passerby; just struck by the Haibane Renmei fandom alongside Dock Boggs, Woody Guthrie, and Mississippi John Hurt. Had they sold merch for these joys, had you donned said merch, and had I been a real-life passerby, hesitate not that I would call you out with due props. As fortunes would have it, chance encounters 'round here don't usually extend beyond metal fandom; it must be said though that in such encounters I truly relish, so I suppose I'm here to express a longing for it to have been possible, had a chance encounter between you and I arisen, to have given ye yer aforementioned props. All in all, I think I'll give Roscoe Homlcomb a try.

    That's a hell of a monologue but I enjoyed reading it. Most of what I know with Holcomb is Man of Constant Sorrow, obviously, and his fantastic version of Sugar Baby (I love that song to death. If you know any other versions of it, let me know). He didn't grab me like Boggs, but I'll get around the rest of his stuff. I also haven't heard of Patton either but I love this style, so thanks for the name. I agree the songs you mentioned are the weaker ones, but I love "Old Rub Alcohol" and "False Hearted Lover", so much that I don't care they have the same melody. "Old Rub Alcohol" actually benefits from the low quality of the recording. It just makes it sound more hopeless and dark.

    Yeah, you definitely have my sympathies over there. One time, somebody wrote something like 'great taste for a 15 year old.' Then I replied bragging about how I'm so happy that i have awesome music and now I feel so incredibly stupid. It's so nice to have met somebody like you here. I actually had a lot more to comment on your three shouts about your summer; it's just that your shouts are a lot to wake up to sometimes and I don't really know where to start. I've actually been meaning to check out a lot of stuff in your library.

    When you reply to last shout it will probably be something like 'Hey, so i'm writing to tell you that I'm sorry it's taken me an obnoxiously long time to reply. I couldn't just say "look through my library" cuz that would've felt a little weird. I guess that is basically what I'm saying now but I had to wait so I could have more to go along with it.     I have a job as an assistant at this camp for delayed toddlers. The head of this camp just tells me to bring her stuff all the time. It's annoying. I'm only working here for another two weeks so I think I'll be okay. I've already decided that I'm going to be absent this coming Tuesday considering that it's "clown day" and all clowns are evil. I'm currently trying to dehipsterize my music taste even further. I'm so sad that I have 14 How To Dress Well plays in my library. Got any music recommendations?
