U2's: "Ultra Rare Trax Vol 2".
A CD singel:
Irish Blood English Heart.
Several Vinyl singles:
People Are People.
Meaning of Love.
Master and Servant.
Genesis: "No Son of Mine."
John Lennon's: "Nobody Told Me".
...and last but not least:
Well.. that was the catch of the day.
31 aug 2007, 12:25In the Wake of Poseidon on CD. I've got it on LP but it's really one great Crimson album. I should probably get In the Court of the Crimson King too but I've overlistened to it so it's got lesser priority even though it's far greater musically. A milestone in music!
Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain... well there's alot of movie sountracks that are great and also easy to forget to purchase. Donnie Darko for example and by this I mean Michael Andrews tracks not the Various Artist disc. They are so dark and awesome. Another soundtrack is that to the anime "Uninhabited Planet SURVIVE" by Takefumi Haketa, but that doesn't seam to be avaliable on last.fm yet.
Hergest Ridge, one of his early albums really worth laying your hands on. Probably top3 among tubalur bells, and ommadawn but these two I already have.
And then there are always some great Beatles albums I'm missing Revolver,
The Beatles, Help!.
Belle & Sebastian's:
The Life Pursuit.
Till We Have Faces by Steve Hackett 1984 on CD.. I've got the Vinyl and it's one of my favourite albums. Hope it get's remastered soon.
UKand The Age of Plastic. These two are also albums I've got on vinyl but I consider them so good that they should belong to my CD collection.
Warrior on the Edge of Time, Levitation and
Hall of the Mountain Grill. Spacerock a la Hawkwind... ...and some Pink Floyd Records I miss A Saucerful of Secrets, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, Meddle, Obscured by Clouds and Wish You Were Here. I really love these albums and I've got them on vinyl. Would be great being able to play them in a CD player too though!
Mother's Milk, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan and Blood Sugar Sex Magik. 3 RHCP albums that's worth my time ^^
Sagan om konungens årsinkomst, Den svenske disco. SMK at it's best :)
Wet From Birth,
Give Up, Silent Alarm, The Back Room, 604 and Vienna, Antics and finaly Shadows Collide With People.
When I buy one I can underline it ^^ But this is my currently list of which albums I want. THAT I will get too Haha!
Just remembered I forgot one. Timeless classic!!!
Teaser and the Firecat
Computerwelt, Trans-Europa Express... well Kraftwerk att it's best.
27 aug 2007, 14:57Top Artists Overall
3. Depeche Mode
5. Timo Räisänen
7. France Gall
11. The Dresden Dolls
23. Håkan Hellström
89. The Pillows
97. The Go-Betweens
101. Suburban Kids with Biblical Names
The numbers are chosen becouse they are primenumbers. No other reason.
#1 I've liked Genesis a really long time now, and will probably stay as my favourite group forever. My favourite song Dancing With the Moonlit Knight lies on my favourite album Selling England By The Pound
#3 I heard Enjoy the Silence when I was a kid. Perhaps a year ago, I started getting more into this artist. Hmm... my favourite album with Depeche must be Black Celebration.
#5 I really like this guys albums, one song worth mentioning is probably Don't Let the Devil Ruin it All however I think he's way to high on my list.
#7 & #11 Hmm.. these two artists.. I haven't really heard much and they're probably too high up on the list too.
#17 & #23 Same here.... to high up on the list!!! However these two artists, I have heard enough to determine that they don't belong in my top40 anyhow.
När hela världen står utanför <3 Commersial shit!
#53 ..and Vapnet is to low on the list, so now I have to listen to it some more :P.
#89 The Pillows (the japanese band), Great OST for FURI KURI (the Anime). The free tracks on last.fm is from the wrong band, the japanese band is more of a great jap-rock music.
#97 & #101 Love Goes On!. Noodles these artist would probably fit more into top50.
30 jul 2007, 12:42Adrian Belew, member of King Crimson, has so many styles. Writing On the Wall... well that's kind of an awesome bassline and crazy singing. Really strong track imo.
The Momur, funny lyrics, great vocalmelodies at the chorus. I would say this is a great song to party with. It has this great tempo.
..and speaking of King Crimson, bassist player Tony Levin, probably one of the greatest bassplayers ever. I mean listen to Sleepless, that song has the same sound as Depeche Mode from the 90's even though the song is from early 80's. Tony Levin has even played with artists like Pink Floyd, Yes, David Bowie. I saw him 2003 playing with Peter Gabriel and if I'm not mistaken it was by playing on P.G.'s second album 2 together with Robert Fripp that made him join King Crimson later.
Even though Red is my favourite K.C. album I think Levin is a far better than John Wetton. Wettons later work with Asia is so mainstream and his vocals too, no good I say. However the progressive stuff is great. U.K. is one of my favourite albums. By the way, isn't U.K. (the group) the same group that made Red by K.C. I meen both Wetton and Bill Bruford is playing and I think both records quite alike. The only player missing i Fripp, which I think is way overrated as a composer. Just becouse he's the only player that stayed in King Crimson doesn't meen he's the reason why King Crimson is great. I think there's some similaritys to the way that Roger Waters were labeled genious of Pink Floyd and the way Chris Squire were stubborn at being Yes while four of the other members formed Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe. It was also Squire's stubborness that made Bruford leave Yes.
It would be great seeing a band one day consist of Squire, Waters, Fripp, Mike Oldfield and Tony Banks (of Genesis). They would probably fight all the time :).
Suiteble name for this band would probably be "the stubbords" or something.
Sorry fo rbad grammar and bad spelling, thanks for reading.
27 jul 2007, 15:04"The idea is to go to the page of your number one artist, and follow the link of it's number one similar artist, then repeating that for this artist and so on, noting down each artist as you go. Do this until you've got to 50 artists (not including your number one). If you get any repeats, just go to the second similar artist or the nearest one that you haven't already had."
