Hailed one of the strongest indie releases
In a post Lilith fair “world” where the female indie music scene is relatively saturated, another ‘indie singer songwriter’ won’t get much of a look in. New York City singer-songwriter Nadine Goellner, is a breath of fresh air. Like most indie artists Nadine still retains the raw intense passion of her compatriots.
The opening track blows you away, punchy drum beats and Goellners rich soulful voice, draws you in to an ‘up down all round’ emotional journey.
The Album Sing it to me Anyway was hailed one of the strongest indie releases – the album is charming and passionately delivered. It is the energy with which Nadine applies her dynamic vocal range that awes the listener. Nadine has just been nominated in the grassroots Grammy equivalent ‘just plain folks’ music awards.
Though lyrically it is fairly straightforward dealing with the standard ‘romance/heartbreak/commitment phobia’ drama it is the difference of presentation that hooks you in. Nadine challenges dearery drama and acoustic guitar driven angst of most female singer song writers, and dares to experiment with; punchy, rich smooth soulful, acoustic scat ,beats. This makes her sound very unlike any other female indie artist out there at the moment.
