Wed 18 Nov – The Fall of Troy, Twin Atlantic, Chickenhawk

For the title to make sense, you'll have to understand the clever (or not so clever) word play I have used! As crazy rockers like to do, they like to stage dive, and tom, well, staged dived, onto my face! A bit painful if I'm honest but oh well! But I'm getting ahead of myself, they didn't come first, they were the headliners so less of them (for the minute) and more of the others.

First up: Chickenhawk. There was only one word to describe there set, and that was loud! or more precisely LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Crazy style hardcore punk mixed with some electronicy bits and finger tapping they gave the so far corwd of about 20 people something to impressed by, with plenty of attitude, personality and a good repose for us few there at that set they kicked off this event very well.

Next up, Twin Atlantic, now i didn't expect much from this band, with the words 'powerpop' being put to their music i was actually dreading the outcome. Turns out however I was rather wrong! Continuing with the theme of LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they kept the voume up near ear bleeding point, not quite as loud as chickenhawk but that is quite a hard pushed thing to be. Not a band I would personally go and choose to go and see again but they played a mighty fine set for Fall Of Troy, with plenty of energy and poppy almost emo tunes went down with everyone well in the crowd, which by this point it was nearly if not a full Academy 3.

Now, the headling, The Fall Of Troy, crazy Americans playing crazy technical music acting crazy on stage, in one word, CRAZY! As said at the start tom went stage diving a few times, everytime onto me! My nose wasnt too fond of that antic at all. Their set continued with the crazy and strange antics, and even at some points getting around to playing just a few of their tracks, such as panic attack!, F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. and you got a death wish, Johnny Truant?. Spurred by one random fans obsession to have tom play using his pic the band started playing some Metallica several points during the show, which was greeted with some enthusiasm from the crowd.

An absolutely awesome show all around.

PS. Fall Of Troy were fucking LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
