I recently bought the new pj harvey album White Chalk, and was baffled by it. When it arrived in the mail, I thought CD Universe had made a mistake and sent me an empty bubble mailer. I opened and found a slip of cardboard with a slightly smaller slip of cardboard with a CD inside. How strange.
I know they're using cardboard CD things more than jewels, kanye west's new album came in an elaborate piece of cardboard (which is already wearing out, and I only took out and listened to the CD twice), but why is the question. Is it to save money, or because people put all their music on those iPod things and throw aside the physical albums.
I miss jewels, they're easier to store and didn't wear out in two seconds.
