Beschouwing: 2011 was een matig muziekjaar, met moeite zijn er twintig platen gekomen die het waard waren om in de top 20 te komen, nog net iets er overheen door op het einde nog een aantal zeer boeiende releases. Vooral vielen een aantal grote releases toch tegen (oa Fleet Foxes, Radiohead, Bon Iver). Alleen Tom Waits en PJ Harvey brachten wat ik van te voren verwacht had. De nummer 1 Oranssi Pazuzu is wel een beetje uit het niets gekomen maar biedt één van de boeiendste nieuwe kijken op black metal. Blut Aus Nord heeft dit ook gedaan, maar is vooral een perfectionering van het geluid wat ze al op the work which transforms god lieten horen maar overtrof m’n verwachtingen. Dit is ook voor White Hills en Bong. Verder zijn het vooral veel artiesten die ik dit jaar voor het eerst heb geluisterd. Hopelijk wordt 2012 een stuk boeiender….
