  • Songs cd 27

    20 dec 2009, 23:50

Here is my latest good songs cd, it is probably about number 50 since I changed the name of the cds around 22 or 23 and started counting over again (because of a drastic change in music taste). Now I'm already back up to 27:

    1.Thrice - The Messenger
A really short song, but a lot of aggresion in it has made me come back to it after having this release for quite some time.

    2.The Helio Sequence - Can't Say No
It took me awhile, but I suddenly "got" this cd, listening to it on the way home from work recently.

    3.Discovery - So Insane
This is not the best song on the cd (that would be Osaka Loop Line, which is one of my top songs of 2009, and I have it on a previous Good Songs cd), but it's still very good and super catchy.

    4.Sigur Ros - Voka (Live)
Sigur Ros is quickly becoming one of my favorite bands after discovering them a little while back. This song has incredible emotion.

5.RX Bandits - In Her Drawer
I've been somewhat addicted to this song and the cd that it is on since seeing them live a few months ago.

    6.Flyleaf - Beautiful Bride
A new song by Flyleaf...listening to it now, I can't quite remember why I put this song on here, but some songs hit me differently at certain times, so who knows. It's an alright song.

    7.Phoenix - Lisztomania
    A cool sounding catchy song.

8.As Tall As Lions - Be Here Now
The cd this song is on is so good, I think almost every song has been on a Good Songs cd, this is the latest one that I have been in to.

    9.Harlem Shakes - Strictly Game
I got this song on a free sampler and I think it came up on itunes shuffle and I liked it alot. I am planning on getting the cd that this song is on soon.

    10.Anberlin - True Faith
The latest cover song by Anberlin, they sent it to radio and it seems to be doing well. Having not heard the original, it took me a couple listens, but I like the vibe of this song.

  • Chevelle "Well Enough Alone"

    13 feb 2007, 15:07

Yes! I just downloaded Chevelle's new single Well Enough Alone. I had been looking for it on itunes for a while now. The song has some great screams and it sounds like their new album will be awesome.
  • "Good Songs CD"

    12 feb 2007, 00:07

Every month or so I make a cd with the 20 (or 19 depending on how long some songs are) best songs that I have gotten recently. Here is my latest "good songs 10"

    1.Save Me
I had taken intrest in Heroes and I Dare You
from this cd but just recently realized how great this third single was.

    2. Are You In?
This is great I like when he howls.

    3.You're Not Alone
The one slow track on this cd, but it is just as good as the rest of their stuff.

    4.Broken(Seether featuring Amy Lee)
From the punisher soundtrack, I found a few really good songs on there.

    5.Forever
I heard it on 93x and liked it so I downloaded it, I do not have the rest of this cd and I don't plan on getting it because I bet this is the only good song on it.

    6.Silhouettes
I like the lyrics and the way the song builds up.

    7.Sick
Another song from the punisher soundtrack, I am going to have to get a cd from these guys soon I think.

    8.Chasing Cars
The first time I heard this song I couldn't get why it was so popular, it seemed really boring, but I like it now.

    9.Untitled
The only song I have from them that I downloaded a couple weeks ago.

    10.Fade
I got their newest cd first then I got this cd for my brother because he likes them so much, this song is really good.

    11.Somedays
    Yes somedays aren't so easy.

    12.Phantom Limb
Best song off of their newest release.

    13.Apologies
A band from Minneapolis, I just ordered the rest of this cd from amazon.

    14.Oh Sweet Promise
A lesser known band that I saw when I was in Calgary.

    15.Wish You Were Here
Another good song from Morning View.

    16.I'm a Sucker for a Kind Word
The second best song on the new album, the first being By My Side and I have that song on an earlier "good songs".

    17.Game On
Sounds alot like Rage Against the Machine.

    18.4:12
Almost every song from Oh! Gravity could be on "good songs" and many have and this one is no exception.

    19.Finding Home
This song has a great begining AND chorus.

    20.Prayer of the Refugee
    Great Lyrics.
  • UPS

The new UPS commercials have The Postal Service music on them. Is that cool or what?

  • The Shins - Wincing The Night Away quick review

    24 jan 2007, 04:25

    The ShinsWincing the Night Away
I just got it today (I didn't plan on getting it the day it came out, but I did anyways). I have owned Oh, Inverted World for some time, but never got into it enough to purchace any of their other work. However, I am glad I got this cd right away. It's much more interesting musically than Oh, Inverted World (not that OIW was a bad cd at all), so I can really enjoy the mellow feel that The Shins have. The music is very catchy with odd sounds placed in effectivly. The lyrics are good, but are definetly the kind that can be interpreted many different ways, much like Death Cab for Cutie. These kind of lyrics can make a writer sound like a genius, but sometimes they make me wonder if the band even knows what message they are trying to tell.
This is definetly a CD to listen to if you want to relax. Or, if you want to, you can take the album's booklet out and be amused as you ponder the lyrics.

Some of the best songs are:
    Phantom Limb
    Australia
    Sea Legs
