Sat 28 Jul – Rock The Bells 2007
It was fun! I concur with most of everyone on the concert's shoutbox. Rage against the machine was amazing, and so were… the Roots! I now have a new band I'm into. I need to get my hands on one of their CDs.
This has a lot to do with my specific music tastes, and I'm pretty sure public enemy, cypress hill, wu tang and everyone else did phenomenally but I'm not the biggest fan of that variety of rap, I guess. Next time I should make sure to not be there the whole day :-P
I got a pretty bad sunburn, mostly due to poorly planned concert logistics. They don't let you bring in food, and there was only one food stand in the main stage area! We ended up standing around, waiting for food in the hot sun for like an hour and a half.
Already mentioned that Rage was amazing. It was really awesome to hear them play so soon after they got back together. I didnt participate, but there was a lot of hardcore moshing going on, everywhere and all at once. A few people around me passed out.
Logistics afterwards kind of sucked also. There were trampling mobs waiting for the bus back to Harlem; We again ended up waiting in a gross, swarming sea of angry people for another 1.5 or more (no exaggeration!) hours before we could catch a bus home. But damn, it was worth it.
