The following bulletin was posted to 'frame' this somewhat idiosyncratic piece. It was important to get across that this track was largely an experiment rather than an accomplished dance-floor filler. As part of an ongoing learning process it was felt that it would be useful to post it on Myspace as a sort fo 'record'.
The bulletin went as follows:
It's a bit of a departure from the usual Dogsolitude_uk music, chiefly for two reasons:
1 - It has no 'orchestral' instruments in it...
2 - It has vocals
As such, it was a rather experimental track. An excursion into uncharted, unfamiliar territory. A world of clinical bleeps and simple square-waves.
The faltering structure of this track charts the progress of this journey. A simple preset on the Zebra CM virtual synth (which was given away free on the cover of the UK's Computer Music magazine) works its way through the vocoded speech synthesizer and acidic burbles in the background, carried by a kick-drum made from a modulated square-wave, and onwards to a cacophanous climax.
All the while a monotonous computerised voice intones Orwellian corporate slogans urging trust, submission and compliance.
There may or may not be some sort of comment about modern life buried in there.
