:) hello! sorry i haven't responded to your question...i wanted to respond when i had less on my mind (i was working on my undergraduate thesis). i'm not sure what more to say really - food has always been a political medium. denying or rejecting food in a predominantly phallogocentric society can be an act of subversion - anorexia as anarchy.

How is being in an open relationship like?

I agree when you say the post served a personal message, but I don't agree to the rest. I'll bang out a more fitting reply when I have the time, because I have the feeling it's going to take a while. I think you could refer to two books by Allen Ginsberg. Deliberate Prose and Reality Sandwiches. Chomsky is brilliant, no? You could try Milton Friedman, too.

I'd read that post before and it was invigorating. Thanks! Victorian flummery about sex and sexuality has been discussed before. The conflict between conservative, prudish parents and the rebellious, sexually-active children that they spawn was, I think, one of the primary reasons that brought about their cultural downfall. Your appreciation of what the bookznslutz guys are doing is also pretty legit, but there are still some unanswered questions, like the one I raised in my previous shout. That said, I think you should do a piece on the success of the beatniks' sexual revolution and the rise to eminence of flower-children if you find the time because a lot can be weaned from that period. You seem like a good candidate to recommend Vincent Gallo's 1998 film Buffalo '66 to, in case you haven't watched it already. I just smiled when I saw you listen to Chomsky's PACOTHM tapes.
