HOLY FUCK. 2010 saw me buying (and receiving) a shitton of albums. I went from 48 in 2009 to 213 in '10. I may be a lot richer in music, but clearly not so much in the wallet. Fuck it, though. It was all worth it. I have a feeling that 2011 will find a little more middle ground. Anyway, it's never too early in the year to start! Oh, and I'm not going to include vinyl in here… you can see that in my vinyl collection entry.

Let's face it, vinyl records are making a comeback. It's a good thing, too, since they have a higher quality sound to them, and they're not subject to the bullshit that is the "Loudness War" that is so prevalent today. There's also something special about vinyl to those that enjoy great rock, especially stoner rock and doom metal. To me, it's about the nostalgia and the exclusivity of being able to find vinyl releases of your favorite music. Of course, the higher quality sound doesn't hurt, either!

Holy shit, here we are in 2010. There's a lot to look forward this year, especially in music. At least, in the underground scenes. Top 40 hits continue to crap out real winners (/sarcasm). 2009 saw me purchasing the greatest numbers of CDs that I have ever bought. What's amazing about that is I never had that much money to even do it. 2010 looks to be considerably different, so maybe I will be able to reach an average greater than 1 per week. After getting lost in Detroit of all places (trust me, that shit's scary), a phone's GPS navigation got us to our final destination. The venue ended up being an upstairs bar/billiards hall area above a bowling alley and restaurant.

Fri 11 Jul – Seether, Finger Eleven, Sick Puppies

So I saw Seether and friends at the Common Ground Festival "tonight" (which is technically last night). Sick Puppies and Finger Eleven didn't impress me one bit, though. I'll admit, I never gave Finger Eleven a chance, and that led to me not appreciating their set today. Granted, they didn't do anything that could ever be considered impressive.
