DISCLAIMER: I've been obsessing over this list for days and I almost didn't make it cuz I don't have a fave song or album. Still not sure I got it right. So this is just a bunch of jams I vibed to at some point this year. Need you now 2k12 (via Sleigh Bells, AnCo + more...yes plz).

    ALBUMS (with songs)
Youth Lagoon - The Year of Hibernation (Montana, 17)
Smith Westerns - Dye It Blonde (Smile, All Die Young)
M83- Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (Splendor, Claudia Lewis)
Cults - Cults (You Know What I Mean, Abducted)
The Antlers - Burst Apart (Putting The Dog To Sleep, I Don't Want Love)
Yuck - Yuck (The Wall, Shook Down)
Shannon & The Clams - Sleep Talk (Done With You, Baby Don't Do It)
Akron/Family - S/T II: The Cosmic Birth and Journey of Shinju TNT (Light Emerges, Another Sky)
Helmet Hair - Glitter Fuzz EP (What Can I Say?, The Brightest) (I might be biased but this is good music. F'real.)

    OTHER SONGS
    roeVy - 5 Minute Meltdown
Jack's Mannequin - Keep Rising (Glass Passenger demo, wasn't even written this year)
    Atlas Sound - Mona Lisa
Cut Copy - Where I'm Going
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Hysterical
Panda Bear - Last Night At The Jetty
    The Submarines - Birds
The Go! Team - Apollo Throwdown
    Fleet Foxes - Lorelai
Jay-Z & Kanye West - Made In America (feat. Frank Ocean) (minus Jay's verse)

    MOST OVERRATED
    Bon Iver - Bon Iver
ZZZZZ. Not saying this is bad, just puts me to sleep.

    MOST UNDERRATED
Smith Westerns - Dye It Blonde
After reading as many "official" year end lists I could find, and only seeing it on one, I think this is one of the most underrated albums this year. Espesh since P4K gave it BNM and didn't even include it in top albums or honorable mentions, and other artists that didn't get BNM were in the top 20 (???)

    BEST CONCERT
Pitchfork Music Festival even though I nearly passed out during Yuck, lost my purse during Odd Future and almost fell asleep multiple times. It was a fun adventure I got to have with mah bfffff (via overnight bus rides, hostels and 97º weather).

P.S.: Sorry for not writing reviews of the Flaming Lips and Nicole Atkins concerts. I have been so swamped with school work this semester that I literally didn't have time. Just know that both concerts owned. Flaming Lips was a confetti-fest of epic proportions, while Nicole Atkins was at a super tiny club and there were about 10 people there—literally. I got to meet her afterwards and bought Neptune City on vinyl.

P.P.S.: 2010 is shaping up to be a pretty awesome year for music too. She & Him and Nicole Atkins are both coming out with new albums!
