Yeah... with respect to "Real Love," for the first few weeks that I had my new phone, it would just scrobble that song every time I played anything. And I didn't notice it until after the 2 week mark, so I couldn't correct it. My Beach House listens should be about 250 lower.

Haha I actually really like that track but I believe that play count is only from last.fm glitching out and scrobbling it too much one time

I love the album. It's such a long record, but it doesn't drag or feel heavy at any point. It just kind of breezes along in a melodic way. I like the way he juxtaposes rock songs like "Was All Talk" with acoustic ones like "Girl Called Alex" and "Goldtone." Both types of song really work for him. He's amazing at what he does. Have you heard the bonus track? It's so good! As for the new Deerhunter, I was initially disappointed by the record. Of course, Microcastle is my favorite album by them, and Monomania's lo-fi punk-y garage rock is a huge departure from the ambient shoegaze-y bliss of that record. On repeat listens, though, I'm totally digging it. It has such a nice flow, and there are some great tracks. "Blue Agent" is like a spooky Halloween-esque song, "Nitebike" is a total late-night jam (even though it's slow and sad), and "Sleepwalking" is upbeat and awesome with Brad's signature depressing lyrics. I love Lockett's track, too. How do you like the record?

I notice you've been listening to a lot of Kendrick Lamar lately. I've never listened to him, but a lot of my friends are going to see him this weekend while he's in Austin. Any recommendations for what I should listen to first as a good introduction?

SERIOUSLY DUDE. Both of those albums, Paris and Psychopomp. CRAZY SHIT. Had the time of my life last night doing a vocal cover of “The Magick Deed” off of the latter. Hank really ‘gets it.’ Really creative, adventurous songwriting dynamics. Kurt Cobain’s one of his biggest influences. You can tell. Fucking “Searching for a Sheep.” Wonderful shit.

Thank you, and likewise of course. Would love to find more music inspiring on a level like that of Kuroma... hence I continue on the journey of making my own.

What'd you think of Wire? The more I listen to Pink Flag, the more I think it's the greatest punk album.

Interesting review of the new Odd Future tape. I noticed you only played a majority of the songs once though. Still a valid opinion and I agree with bits of your review. Nice to hear people speak their mind honestly these days. New student union seems very interesting. Hopefully not a foolish question but can graduate students write for that or is that solely contributed to by undergraduates?
