    1. Abu Ghraib
    2. Leave The Trail
    3. And I Wait For Tomorrow
    4. Clockwork
    5. Resistance, Rebellion, Revolution
    6. Liar
    7. Return To Pangaea

    1...2...HASSELHOFF
    3...4...VILLAGE PEOPLE
    5...6...MATT DAMON!!!

    in diesem sinne...gute nacht...
  • Philosophische Reflexionen über Pfefferhasen und Salbeikaninchen

    21 mar 2007, 17:07

    Goschy (05:43 PM) :
tja, da weisst du wo der hase läuft...
    Goschy (05:43 PM) :
    durch den pfeffer...
    flea (05:44 PM) :
    raus!
    Goschy (05:44 PM) :
    warum?!
    flea (05:46 PM) :
    wegen dem shclecht witz
    flea (05:46 PM) :
    *g*
    Goschy (05:47 PM) :
    okay...
    Goschy (05:47 PM) :
aber es is kein witz, is tatsache...
    flea (05:47 PM) :
    hehe
    Goschy (05:47 PM) :

  • Nice start in the year! A Wilhelm Scream Live!

    9 feb 2007, 17:08

Wed 31 Jan – A Wilhelm Scream, No Trigger
So...2006 was a great year for me...I visited a lot of concerts and i got into some new really cool bands...but i think the best of these new bands for me was A Wilhelm Scream (also see my journal "Musical Review") so i was really excited as i discovered them playing in stuttgart and bought some tickets with a couple of friends...
after we arrived at the Röhre me and a one of my mates immediately bought a shirt and couldn't await for the bands to start...the place was far away from being sold out...but this was also cool...small concerts are more comfortable ;-)
what neither of us knew was that there was another support-band called Benzin...uhm...well...i would not have missed a thing if they hadn't played...they didn't fit into this whole event...their performance on the stage wasn't that bad...but it would have been better if they played another style of music...but anyways
after that and after a short break No Trigger entered the stage and they were quite cool but nothing really extraordinary...reminded me of Strike Anywhere by the way...
ok...then after a really long break with a lot of strange music A Wilhelm Scream finally entered the stage and to my pleasure they opened with my favorite song of them Famous Friends And Fashion Drunks...i love the bridge in which the bass plays this awesome and very fast riff...and what i have to say in general is that this guy playing the bass (Brian Robinson) fucking kicks ass...me and one of my mates that also plays bass like me we were just watching him and couldn't believe what hey played...awesome!! nothing more to say than this
and also the other guys...everyone of them is really brilliant on his instrument...the singer (Nuno Pereira) kinda lost his voice in the end but also showed a great performance during the gig...none of 'em stood still just one second...it was really intoxicating...
    finally the setlist:
    1. Famous Friends And Fashion Drunks
    2. Killing It
    3. Mute Print
    4. The Pool
    5. Anchor End
    6. The Kids Can Eat A Bag Of Dicks
    7. The Soft Sell
    8. some new track that was called something like Five to Nine
    9. Cancer Dream
    10. Me vs. Morrissey in the Pretentiousness Contest (The Ladder Match)
    11. When I Was Alive: Walden III
    12. Kursk
    13. Retiring
    14. Congratulations
    15. Dreaming Of Throwing Up
    16. The King Is Dead
    and as encore The Rip

all in all the setlist was just great...the only song missing would probably be A Picture of the World

the only thing left to say: check em out! they kick ass!
THE KING IS DEAD! - FUCK! - THE KING IS DEAD! - WOOOHOHOHOOOOO!!
  • Musical Review On 2006

    30 dec 2006, 18:40

    Hi you all!
The year is coming to its end and so I think it’s about time to write a new journal…maybe one that is more important than my last one and which might be more interesting…but I don’t think that this will be that difficult…so take your time and maybe get a cup of tea (coz coffee sucks!) and enjoy! (well at least I hope so) Or as to say it with the words of the singer of Tribute To Nothing: “Hello I’m Andi and I hope you enjoy my journal…if not I’m sorry!”
Ok…anyways…first of all I want to apologize that I did not write for such a long time, but this has various personal reasons not really interesting to most of you guys that just want to read a silly summary of my musical year…so if one might really be interested just ask me in private and I’ll answer…the only thing I can say is that I listened to a lot of emo and stuff…looking back now I think it was too much sometimes…don’t get me wrong I still like emo in general but the bad thing about this genre is that it drags you down even more when you’re listening to it when you’re sad…and I think some of the people I know take this emo-attitude a lot too serious (if you still don’t know what the hell emo could be, feel free to check this out: How To Be Emo)
So…before we get to the artists and new releases this year and all that stuff I want to say that I’m aware of the fact that there was a lot more this year than what I’m talking about, but all the following releases and artists and so on are those that mattered the most to me…

Ok…first of all I want to give you an overview of my favourite releases of this year…they are ordered from best to worst:
    Stadium Arcadium (+++)
-Just great! I think I don’t have to say anything more to this…also see my journal about it: click here!

    II (+++)
-Again a great album…didn’t expect it to be such great…again se my journal: click here!

    Speak Resistance (+++)
-OK…I think there are only few people that will know this band but they really kick ass…they’re from Munich and are also very nice guys…for all of you that like fast skatepunk I think this will be the right thing for you…check ‘em out!

    Skin And Bones
-CD (+++): This was something that was very surprising to me…the Foo Fighters recorded a live unplugged album…”OK…might be interesting” I thought and what came out is something really imposing…15 songs recorded during their unplugged shows in LA…especially the version of Everlong is stunning
-DVD UK-Import (+++): The special thing about the UK-Import of this DVD is that there’s not only the unplugged-gig on it. It’s a 2-DVD-box with the Hyde Park show in London where they played for 85.000 people which looks really impressing.
For all of you that speak German: here you can find a great review on the Skin and Bones DVD...I think there’s nothing more to say to it than this: click here!

As The Sun Falls Down (+++)
-Well…this is very important to me coz it’s my own band and after one year we finally could release our first real album and I think we can be really proud of it…if you’re interested feel free to check us out here or here

    Roll Roll And Flee (++)
-I was really looking forward to this record when I first listened to the first song Soul For Sale on Nikola's Myspace-Page and I love this record…in my opinion it’s better than his first one because I think the songs are more perfected than on the last record which was also cool…but not THAT cool

The Sufferer and the Witness (++)
-I only knew a few songs by Rise Against when I got this album but I came to love ‘em real soon when I listened to this new record...solid work…no bad song to be found on it…that’s it

The Misery Index; Notes From The Plague Years (++)
-Well cool album by bsf…solid work but not their best one…once again I wrote a journal about it: click here!

    The Pick of Destiny (+)
-I never thought that acoustic-guitar songs could rock like this! These two crazy guys show again what they are able to…funny and ass-kickin’ record…I’m really looking forward to the movie *g*

    Dead FM (+)
-I didn’t know them but went to a concert so I thought I could check them out a little bit because concerts where you don’t know the songs suck…yeah nice band some really nice songs

    Keep Your Heart (+)
-Yeah…nice pop-punk record brings me to summer mood

    Wolves In Wolves’ Clothing (=)
-Well nothing very ordinary…solid NOFX-work some nice songs for example Seeing Double at the Triple Rock which has nearly the same beginning as Barcode On My Chest…and the thing is that I know the Mongrel song for over a year now…but Seeing Double At The Triple Rock was released this year…strange coincidence?

    Light Grenades (=)
-Well I think I expected a little bit more…no bad record but nothing compared to the older stuff such as Make Yourself or Morning View

    Voices (-)
-Hm…this album really disappointed me very much. Stories And Alibis was such a great album…I really loved it and therefore was looking forward to Voices but except a few cool songs it’s not very good

So far…I think this is basically it about releases this year. But of course there are not only new albums you discover, there are also artists you discover. I discovered some which are well-known to quite a lot people I think, but also some that only very few of you will know. These are the best ones again…nothing more to say than: Check them out!
-A Wilhelm Scream (These guys are awesome! I’m really looking forward to see them live in Stuttgart on Jan 31…my personal discovery of the year)
    -The Loved Ones
    -Rise Against
    -Strike Anywhere
-Tribute To Nothing (Really cool band from the UK. They sound a lot like Hot Water Music. Great live band)
-The Secret Machines (If you just want to relax this is the right music I think.)
-Alexisonfire (last minute…*gg* …they will play support for Billy Talent on the next tour so I had to check them out…really cool)
-Incubus (I should put them between brackets because of course I knew them before but only a few songs and this year I kinda learned to love their music)
    -Funeral for a Friend

OK…last but not least…the concerts I’ve been to this year…I think it will be difficult to beat this in 2007…the best 3 concerts in my life under them…but these are only bigger concerts (except Mongrel)…there were also some smaller ones not really worth mentioning
    Foo Fighters (Jan 26, Munich)
    -The Secret Machines

    BoySetsFire (Mar 26, Schweinfurt)
    -Tribute To Nothing

    Mongrel (2 times in Würzburg)

    Dropkick Murphys (Apr 24, Stuttgart)
    -Less Than Jake

Red Hot Chili Peppers (2 times: Jun 11, Dortmund & Nov 26, Frankfurt) click here!
    -Dizzee Rascall
-Mike Watt & The Missing Men

Taubertal Openair (Aug 11, Rothenburg ob d. Tauber)
    -Millencolin
    -Wir sind Helden
    -Die Happy
    -Fire In The Attic
    -Revolverheld

    Billy Talent (Oct 5, Stuttgart)
    -Reuben

    Strike Anywhere (Nov 17, Schweinfurt)
    -The Loved Ones
    -Nothing In Common

    Nikolaus Raus! (Dec 8, Nürnberg)
    -ZSK
    -De Heideroosjes

Well...I think this was my musical year 2006...hope 2007 will be good, too...
I wish all of you a happy new year anyway
    yours
    Andi
  • Song #25.000

    17 sep 2006, 16:21

    Everlong

i think this the perfect song #25.000 'cause it's one of my all-time-favorites...the second best song ever written for me to say the truth...
so some of you might wonder why i didn't choose my favorite song (which is Scar Tissue btw)...the answer is simple: everlong just fits better to my mood and to the things that happen around me right now

    And I wonder
When I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
  • Billy Talent II

    18 jul 2006, 11:17

the new album by Billy Talent was released a few weeks ago...and after listening to it various times i decided to write a new journal...well it's called II...now here we go:
first of all for everyone of you who lives in germany it's really cheap...it only costs between 12-13 euros. and what you get for your money isn't only a cd and a booklet with the lyrics...no this album has an excellent artwork...to every song you can find a little drawing in the booklet that may help you to interprete the songs' meanings...and after i bought it the first thing i did was looking at these pictures and what i have to say is that they all fit perfectly to the songs they stand for

but now...let's come to the essential thing about a new record...right i'm talking about the songs...so now here are the songs in the right order they're on the album with a little statement by me and at the end points i would give the songs (1 to 10...10 the best):
    1. Devil In A Midnight Mass --> great opening song...i especially like the whispering-part and in my opinion this is the best song of this album...kick-ass-riff (10)
    2. Red Flag --> some of you may have listened to the demo...well i did as well...they changed this song a little bit but it's still great (9)
    3. This Suffering --> after listening to this song i feared that the rest of the album would be crap because also this song is just great and i couldn't imagine what will come next (9)
    4. Worker Bees --> after listening to this song my fear didn't disappear...because although it's not a bad song it's in my opinion the worst song of the whole album...but what i have to say is that this song grooves! (6)
    5. Pins And Needles --> after four powerful songs the guys put a track on that slows you down a little bit...very melancholic...BUT you can't say this song doesn't rock...it's another great one an it helped me losing my fear (8)
    6. Fallen Leaves --> after this song there wasn't fear anymore and i had been convinced that this album is going to be one of my favorite ones and for the rest of this journal i won't get on your nerves with my silly fear...also melancholic but more powerful again...cool riff...and with a solo...i can't remember a solo on the first record (8)
    7. Where Is The Line? --> cool riff...good work between bass and drums...this song grooves...unfortunately in the chorus misses something...can't say what it is...the last kick...again a solo...but kick-ass-ending (8)
    8. Covered In Cowardice --> great song (rocks, kicks ass & grooves)...powerful chorus (9)
    9. Surrender --> very melancholic song...i would say a nice chill-out song...very cool singing...very nice avoustic-riff in the beginning...very powerful in the end (8)
    10. The Navy Song --> this song grooves!!! very cool melody...very povwerful chorus...couldn't be any better (10)
    11. Perfect World --> powerful...just rocks...don't know what more i could say (7)
    12. Sympathy --> this song could definitely be on the first album as well...again very powerful but also melancholic...another nice solo (8)
    13. Burn the Evidence --> last but not least another very cool song that can be seen as a summary of the whole album i think...it's melancholic, it grooves, it rocks and it's powerful (9)
    average: 8,4

all in all i would say that this album is definitely worth buying it...every song is different although they're all grooving, ass-kicking & powerful...just a great album i can only recommend
  • Red Hot Chili Peppers Live in Dortmund (11th of June '06)

    12 jun 2006, 14:32

i still can't find the right words to describe what i experienced yesterday evening! it was great! it was awesome! it was unbelievable! it was amazing! it was tremendous! it was incredible!

but first of all i want to tell you a little story: when the dates were released we (5 mates and me) decided to go to the first show in dortmund because there are only 2 more dates in germany: again in dortmund today (12th of june) and in berlin. the fact that dortmund is nearer to us than berlin was the point that convinced us to go there.
when the date came the tickets were free for sale two of us (patt and me) got up early to get the tickets...he ordered two and i ordered 4...but the server was full of people so he had to wait 10 minutes more than me...finally we both got our tickets
a few days later our phone rang and someone from the "westfahlen halle" asked me whether i had ordered 4 tickets for the 11th of june...it was horrible "yes" i said quietly and she went on "we're sorry...we can't give you the tickets the server was so overrun...(pause...i think she wanted to torture me...i was shocked...but then she went on)...but we blocked 4 tickets on the stands for you...excellent sight...or we can give you tickets for the 12th"...for me it was clear that we had to take the tickets for 11th because we were six and the other two had their tickets for 11th...
again few days later the tickets arrived...and the woman didn't exaggerate...the places were excellent

finally only four of us got there because two sold their tickets...they don't know what they missed out...well we went there by car...it were about 380km and it was worth it...we started half past eleven in the morning because we wanted to get sure to be there in time...and we feared a traffic jam because of the last days of holidays...but fortunately there was no traffic jam and we got to dortmund in about 4 hours...when we were there we relaxed a bit from the journey and the went to get something to eat and to buy shirts...then we went back to the car and tried to kill the time...then we got the idea to watch the crowd to get in to get best places...but this wasn't as funny as we had thought
then we decided to go in and check out our seats...just when we got up to the stands it was amazing...our seats were nearly perfect
the only thing i could do was smiling...i was just so happy...i wanted to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers since the By the Way-tour in 2002...and now it were just about 2 hours and this dream would become true

at 8 o' clock pm Dizzee Rascal entered the stage...and the majority of the crowd wanted them to get off the stage immediately...it was strange to go to a rock concert and listen to a mixture of techno and hip hop...well like most people i didn't like it...there was only one cool song...in which they made a little medley of famous rock songs and didn't rap much...but all in all it would have been better without them...although i think you have to pay them respect

after the performance of dizze rascal the hall became more full...i think many people knew what dizzee was like and missed them out on purpose...then the mood in the crowd got better and better...in the end there were various mexican waves all through the crowd...first on the stands and then in the middle...after the third mexican wave over the stands the light was switched off...and everyone went crazy and then chad, flea and john entered the stage to begin the set with one of their great jams...here now the setlist:
    1.Jam
--> this has always been a great thing for me when i listened to Live in Hyde Park or watch the live dvds...their jam-sessions on stage are just great
    2.Can't Stop
--> one of the few really great songs from by the way...the crowd went crazy
    3.Dani California
--> just a great song...awesome solo by john
    4.Scar Tissue
--> this is my favorite song...i can't say how happy i was to hear this song live...it was like flying
    5.Charlie
--> great funky song...yeah...nothing more to say...played great...just as the other songs of the set
    6.Otherside
--> again...one of my favorite tracks...was nearly like scar tissue...but only nearly...the crowd sang the choruses louder than anthony...this was amazing...i love this moments
    7.21st Century
--> i think this was the song where chad threw a stick on the mixer ^^...great
    8. john played some song i didn't know...i expected How Deep is you Love but this time he played a different song...as i now know it was For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her...also a nice one
    9.Throw Away Your Television
--> i love this song...ended in another great jam!
    10.Snow (Hey Oh)
--> one of my favorite song from stadium arcadium...the guitar-riff is just great and i didn't expect them to play this live...but it was just as awesome as every song
    11.Me and My Friends
--> they had to start this twice because something was wrong with john's guitar...i think he couldn't hear himself...but this song was also great...it rocks!
    12.Stadium Arcadium
-->like every song by them that gave the name for an album great!
    13.Right on Time
--> like various time before they played London Calling as a little intro to this song...it's just so great live...i can't believe how clean flea plays over three strings in the chorus
    14.Don't Forget Me
--> one of the best by the way songs...and maybe one of the best live songs...what john plays is amazing...at the end there was again a great jam-session
    15.Tell Me Baby
--> another great song that was played great...don't know what else would be to say
    16.Californication
--> they started with a jam...and then played this great song...the light show to this song was so cool...it supported the message of this song visually
    17.What is Soul?
--> great song which is in my opinion another great jam-session
    18.By the Way
--> this song rocks! and the bass solo was one of the moments of this concerts i was looking forward to the most

after this they left the stage...but the crowd wasn't tired...everyone made so much noise...it was incredible and so they came back after a few minutes...well at first only chad came back...now here are the additions

    19.Drum Solo
--> what i have to say is that chad had a drum-set that lighted up once he hit a tom...so this wasn't just cool...it was also a little bit funny...he played with the crowd and after some mexican waves this cool solo ended unfortunately
    20.Under the Bridge
--> a great song...again the crowd sang louder than anthony...i love this song
    21.Give It Away
--> this song rocks! the whole crowd went crazy...but unfortunately it was the last real song they played and anthony left the stage again
    22.Jam
--> this jam-session was the best one during the whole concert...chad played cool rhythms and flea and john switched parts various times in the end they were face to face on their knees and played and played...this jam lasted for at least 10 minutes...awesome!

all in all i have to say that it was even better than i had expected...what means that this was the best concert i have ever been to...the setlist was just great...the only song that i wish theay had played would be Venice Queen but even without this i'm absolutely happy...
i hope to see them again!

Finally it's done!!! the new album of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is finally released...after 'bout four years of waiting for a new studio-record...after a last album By the Way that just wasn't able to wipe me off my feet except a few songs...for example:
    By the Way
    Don't Forget Me
    Can't Stop
    Venice Queen

but let's come to the new album...as you can se by the headline it's called Stadium Arcadium...it's a double album with 14 song each for all of you who live on the moon and didn't get this (just joking ^^)...name of the first cd is "Jupiter" and here is the tracklisting:
    Dani California
    Snow (Hey Oh)
    Charlie
    Stadium Arcadium
    Hump de Bump
    She's Only 18
    Slow Cheetah
    Torture Me
    Strip My Mind
    Especially in Michigan
    Warlocks
    C'mon Girl
    Wet Sand
    Hey

all in all i have to say that the first cd is just awesome and at the moment i can't get enough of it...and all the time i have a song of it in my mind...all of 'em are at least very very good

now comes the second cd which is called "Mars"...again at first the tracklisting:
    Desecration Smile
    Tell Me Baby
    Hard to Concentrate
    21st Century
    She Looks to Me
    Readymade
    If
    Make You Feel Better
    Animal Bar
    So Much I
    Storm in a Teacup
    We Believe
    Turn It Again
    Death of a Martian

this second cd is in my opinion not as good as the first one but it's still great with different types of songs...and none of the songs is bad...but looking on both cds in the end i have to say that for me the first cd, "Jupiter" is better than the second one, "Mars"...

for the whole album i have to say that it's just awesome with so many great songs...and i have the impression that all of the four have woken up from their winter sleep...especially flea and john...john is really really awesome on the whole album...i'm impressed by his playing on this album...i just can't find the words to express this...also flea plays more interesting basslines than before on by the way
finally i have to say that this was not the way i had expected the new album...because i had expected it to be a bit more funky than it is in fact...but of course there a great funky songs on it...but i think it's even better than i have expected it to be
  • Less Than Jake & Dropkick Murphys Live (April, 24 in Stuttgart (GER))

    25 apr 2006, 15:30

This was a nice evening...but first i want to tell something what happened in the last days before the concert:
saturday a good friend (MÖRFH --> http://www.last.fm/user/FatMoerfh) wanted to go to this concert but he has a lot to do so he asked whether i would take his ticket...well at first i didn't know if i should say yes but then i did and i can't say that it was the wrong decision...
now to the evening itself...we missed out Far From Finished and came to the second song of Less Than Jake which was All My Friends Are Metalheads...well i only know less than 10 songs by them...the only other i knew was Look What Happened which was one of the last songs...but i've to say that they're a great live band and i think i will check them out more...
and the third band which was in fact the reason why i took my friend's ticket: Dropkick Murphys...they played a lot of great songs...but as they are not my favourite band i didn't know all songs...but here are the ones i can recall:
    Sunshine Highway
    The Warrior's Code
    The Auld Triangle
    The Fields Of Athenry
    Bastards on Parade
    Finnegan's Wake
    Barroom Hero
    The Gang's All Here
    Boys on the Docks
    Skinhead on the MBTA
    The Rocky Road to Dublin
    The Gauntlet
    Good Rats
    The Wild Rover
    The Spicy McHaggis Jig

all in all it was a great evening...i've seen two more bands live and i can only recommend you all to check these bands out...they kick ass live! well at least Less Than Jake and Dropkick Murphys...i don't know nothing by Far From Finished...but maybe i'll check them out by myself...or i would be very happy if someone who knows them could recommend some nice songs by them...see ya
  • BoySetsFire live in Schweinfurt (26th of March '06)

    27 mar 2006, 09:14

wow! this was an awesome evening!!!

this was the second time i saw boysetsfire live and it was just awesome...because this time knew much more songs...last time i only knew Tomorrow Come Today and they only played 2 songs of this record...but this time i also knew After the Eulogy and the new album The Misery Index: Notes From The Plague Years and so i nearly recognized all songs...but from the start....

as we came into the "alter stattbahnhof" there weren't many people around and so we were pretty close to the stage when the support-band Tribute To Nothing started playing...i didn't know them but i have to say they rock...their moves were just awesome and their music is great...i think i will check them out in the next time
but then BoySetsFire got on stage and a few moments later i was in the second row and later in the first one i can't remember the original setlist...but i can recall nearly every song the played and here they are:

    Walk Astray
    Requiem
    Final Communiqué
    10 And Counting
    Falling Out Theme
    Empire
So Long...And Thanks For The Crutches
    With Cold Eyes
    Last Year's Nest
    Handful of Redemption
    Release The Dogs
    After the Eulogy
    Rookie
    Still Waiting for the Punchline
My Life in the Knife Trade
    Twelve Step Hammer Program
and there were a few songs i didn't know...so in total it were about 20 songs they played

when the show was over i caught a drum stick and shook the hand of every member...again i have to say that it was an awesome evening...hope i can see them again...and i can recommend you to go to one of their shows if you have the chance to...you won't be disappointed...

so long...(and thanks for the crutches)
