I was shuffling through my collection and I got to one that I had not listened to before, a 23:55 track listed as "Side A" of "Pot-Pourri Pour Parce Que" from Raymond Boni. It's a nice peice of free jazz with some unusual guitar playing. According to the infallible Allmusic, Boni was learned guitar from gypsy musicians, instead of the more typical jazz or blues route. There's some pretty cool sax work on the track as well.
The original source for the download is radio station WFMU, via their blog. The topic is the notorious list of influences of the surrealist Nurse With Wound. At some point I would like to write more about Nurse With Wound, but for now, I'll just link to the WFMU blog. There's some good stuff there, check it out:
