Yeah this is overdue – and man I haven't posted a journal in almost 4 years – but I wrote this list a few years ago and have revised it a few times, especially when viewing a film I hadn't seen before but love. I originally had an "honourable mentions" box that had about 35 more films on it but it felt sorta pointless since it was all unranked – for example – looking at the part I excised – I had the films Taxidermia, Os Mutantes, Notre Musique, Frontiers at Dawn. Shirin, Sad Vacation, Dead Leaves, La Captive, and the Mission somewhere in that section, in that order – and without any order, it seemed silly to have it listed like I just did, since I like The Mission waaaaay more than, say, Taxidermia. Meanwhile, Enter the Void was the second film under 'honourable mentions' and it's honestly probably my least favorite film of any I listed, period (though I originally had it at # 50 on the original list, a second viewing deflated my enjoyment of it, since I realized that almost all my initial kinda-loving of it was based on the technical side).
