haha, copy pasted from my lj

Sat 4 Aug – Ankkarock '07

1. yes. i happen to be a deg fan. if you have a problem with that gtfo. *smiles*
2. my journal = i write whatever and however i want. though i don't mean to offend anyone.
3. this may be a little incoherent here and there and also contain some bad spelling and/or grammar. my apologies (_ _;)

bands i saw:
The BellRays (US) this was a fun band. rock'n roll with some soul in it ^^ the singer had a beautiful voice.
Von Hertzen Brothers not as good as i thought it would be. henjin loved the singer's back XD; i thought it was a nice gig, but wasn't too sad to leave a little before they stopped playing.
The Sounds(SWE) great >3> they kicked ass. maja was gorgeous. i had lots of fun.
The Gathering (NED) i never really have listened to their music before. i thought i should check them out since it was their last gig with this line up. i have to say they were really good. i got chills on my spine (in a good way) on many songs. the singer had an angelic yet strong and wicked voice. i started to cry during one of their soungs. i cry easily, but also, the music was really touching.
Damn Seagulls was a nice start for a day. (it was the first artist of my sunday)
Disco Ensemble i love them, i honestly do >3> but that gig wasn't as good as the one i saw at ilosaari this year. but i had fun nevertheless and they did play well. but something was missing.
we went to a mosh pit with mau XD;
Amorphis (only about 4 last songs) they played on the stage on which dir en grey would play later. the crowd was packed with diru fans, but i think they weren't being a rude audience. i was further away. we were waiting till they would stop playing before we'd try to find places in the crowd. amorphis was actually quite good. i enjoyed their show as much as it was possible to enjoy - thinking about dir en grey made me super nervous.
Dir En Grey (JPN)
yes. the real thing. when i first got into this band i never ever dreamed they would come to europe, not to mention finland. however, even if it wasn't said out loud for many years, at least not seriously, we all hoped they'd come here for a live. then they started doing lives overseas and now they'd really play at ankka. i don't know how many of you felt the same way or know how that feels but to me it was impossible thing coming into reality. just like that. on that stage they'd really play. live. for real. i tried to keep myself together, and not to cry. i tried to act normal. breath. and stuff *laughs*

then, when G.D.S started playing all the sappy feelings disappeared and i started to feel such energy and joy and gratefulness and excitement that there was no limit. i was so happy, head banging and screaming the kill-kills along. *laughs* actually the gig didn't quite start right away, the speaker guy came in the middle to announce the next band and stuff but i think most of the fans didn't even pay attention to him but were eagerly waiting for the band appear. and soon they did. as expected, the crowd went crazy as the band came to the stage. it was surreal.

the set was really good. i like the songs from tmoab very much. they played at least ryojuku no ame, deeper vileness (YAAAAAAAY >3), disabled complex, fatal believer and agitated screams of maggots (which was pure energy and awesomeness. i have 61 plays of that song in last.fm *laughs*), but i was also very delighted to hear older songs like -saku-, the final (the crowd seemed to love this the most. i have to admit it was one of the best songs ;3; and touching. it really was.), theIIId empire and dead tree(i can't describe how awesome it felt to hear this song live, i love this song very dearly). i'm sorry i have no idea how the setlist actually went ^^;;; but i never do.
i'm not going to tell details about what the band members did or how they looked. you know and if you don't, i dare to believe you wouldn't even care to know *laughs* but i have to say one thing: they took contact to the audience, quite a lot actually. this was surprising and heartwarming considering the comments i'd heard before about their acting on the stage. even kyo did these clap-your-hands-together - thingies 8D;

after the gig i just had fun with my friends and talked about the show we'd just seen. everyone was quite stoned, so to say. we watched some bands from further away. then was the last band
Nine Inch Nails (US) they were good. or trent was. or whatever. but they aren't really anything to me. nice music and all, but seeing dir en grey and having a couple of beers had blurred my mind so that i couldn't really get a good grip of the gig. my mind was elsewhere, so to say ^^;;

so~ the whole event was a blast for me. though i've gotta say that the rules were rather strict and beer a tad bit too expensive ^^;; but no complains otherwise. great bands and nice people. even the terrible dir en grey fans were really sweet (yes, even though i happen to like the band it doesn't mean i'd always get along with all the other fans and agree with them about how to act).
thanks to everyone~

ps. the rules-whatever at the beginning are there 'cause i don't really need any last.fm drama.

pps. having read the ankkarock shoutbox, i must say it's quite amusing how so many are being rather harsh on deg and their fans. i don't see the fans act stupidly here nor did i see at the festival (any more than other fans). and the band is a band among others. they played their stuff well, but it's clear everyone doesn't like it. hell, i hate zen cafe but i don't go around making a number of it. *shrug* whatever. i hope someone got the point, that is, if someone read this far *laughs*
