    I had never heard of Cerys Matthews before…she’s got a very sweet and tender voice though and the song sounds very 80s/90s to me (: I really enjoyed the song by Axelle Red. I generally love music in French and I am always looking for great French pop music. This one is great! I know Saint Etienne before, but not this song! It’s not that bad, but not really my cup of tea, sorry :( The Sally Shapiro music video is very creative and the song’s very catchy and dreamy too. Yes, I guess that’s how it could be described (: Also, Donna Lewis’ ‘I could be the one’ is one of my favourites from the 80s. I’ve already had it in my library (: The Melissa Mars song seems to be a bit bossa nova-ish and she seems to have a great vocal range. I enjoyed it very much. Jill Cunniff has a very strong voice, she’s very talented. I am surprised I had never heard of Sita before, because her music is very catchy, especially the Popstars one XD Which is actually a German castingshow :P #5

    Aw :3 Well, you know, the size doesn’t matter. I don’t understand the apparent Last.Fm contest of having the biggest library. I prefer quality over quantiy and I am also pretty selective over what I like and don’t like. I don’t see the point of listening to something I cannot stand, just so people think I am ‘eclectic’. So I am sure you have a very good reason of adding every song to your library and maybe even have a little personal story to it? Well, most great finds actually happen by mere coincidence, I find. Thank you for building a playlist just for me, I really appreciate it! You’ve showed me the Sugarfree video before, it makes me think of summer and being carefree! And Meja…the song has a reggae-ish feel to it, don’t you think so? It’s very good for chilling out! #3

    Haha, well, isn’t being “true”, a discussion only metalheads have? I am really considering making one! Oh yes, I tend to have a lot of artists other people just don’t like :P However, there are some popular pop artists I just don’t like, for example Iggy Azaela, Lorde, Lana Del Rey or Ed Sheeran. Hey, there is nothing wrong with being unique! It definitely makes you more interesting. Oh, I am glad you’ve revoked that ban! To be honest with you, I don’t like any of the songs of her last two albums either, it’s just turned too grotesque for me. Also, thanks for sending me ‘The Art of Driving’. It’s funny, because ‘Black Box Recorder’ suggests more of being a black metal band :P I’d have to agree with you there! Unfortunately, a lot of more unknown artists are hardly represented in Spotify, and that’s a shame. I think they are exclusive to artists with a label. #3

    I definitely agree that Bernadette La Hengst is a very underrated artist. It’s a pity she doesn’t get more recognition. Me neither, I don’t like metal either. The growling scares me, to be honest. It makes me feel very uneasy, so I definitely prefer positive and upbeat music, hehe. I’ve also liked her music video, it’s a bit dark, but it was pretty professionally done. The part where she is spinning with the camera (: Thank you – likewise! I also enjoy talking to you. Thank you! He is a very special cat indeed! I definitely agree on that (: the stereotype of being aloof and selfish often don’t apply to cats, you just need to get to know them better. At first, my flatmate was scared of cats, but now he loves Casper and he is the one who makes the silliest noises, when he is caressing the cat XD. #2

    Hey! I am not sure about my shoutbox being popular, but I love getting to know a lot of different people. It’s one of the perks that Last.Fm offers. I’ve recently read that it was co-founded by some Austrian members and I think that it’s pretty much the best invention our country has had to offer XD. Also, I really enjoyed Spinning by Merril Bainbridge! It’s very upbeat and the kind of song you would hear in a typical chick flick. It immediately puts you in a better mood. I am not sure if you would be into the artists I’ve just mentioned, but I’ll just link you to their Youtube videos, and you decide what you think of it – 2Raumwohnung and Wir Sind Helden. #1

    I always enjoy good music, so if you’d like to share a playlist, I would really like that! The ‘Happy’ song by Sita is amazing! Also, she is very pretty. Would you please include that one on the playlist? I think your library has some hidden gems in it! Sometimes I think it’s sad that there is so much good music out there and no matter how hard you try, you won’t find it all because there is just so much of it (: hehe. #4

    Songs like “Der beste Augenblick” (‘The best moment in your life is right now’ would be the translation) are very uplifting! Thank you very much, it means a lot! I really enjoy talking to you (: Hehe, I love cats! I picked up mine from the animal shelter and he’s pretty much the best thing to have happened in my life. He’s also so wise, he seems to pick up every emotion from me, and sometimes he’d tilt his head and it appears like he’s listening intently :P. Yes, German’s my native language and I study interpretation, so I am sure I could help you out with some lyric translations (and it’d be a good practise). Yay, you and I, we’re popheads! I should make a group about it! You know, if you could do that, I would really appreciate it! I mostly listen to Spotify when I am not at home and need to listen to music or before I fall asleep. #3

    How do you discover music on Last.Fm? Do you just follow recommendations or do you check our similar artists? Hm, I don’t think Mog or Rdio are available in my country. How does their discovery system work? I am glad you know what you like and where to find it! Sometimes it can be difficult when you are surrounded by too much music that is just not your style. I wish I’d also find more obscure pop music and the 90s are the period I grew up in (I was born in 1990). So I also love that sound to it, it makes me feel very nostalgic :3. Thank you for sharing Bernadette La Hengst’s songs! She sounds a bit like 2Raumwohnung meets Wir Sind Helden, which you can be sure is a good mix! I am surprised she’s got only around 4,000 clicks on Youtube! I completely agree with you there, which is one of the reasons I don’t listen to metal. It’s just too negative for me and makes me feel bad. #2

    I know, I am also sad that he died. He made so many people laugh and felt so sad himself… Me neither, I had no idea he was depressed and this shows, that this disease has to be taken seriously by doctors and society alike. Thank you very much! I also thought that he greatly enriched the world by his presence and his movies will never be forgotten. So you just bought the CD of Mandy Moore without knowing her? That was a good pick! I’ve watched the movie Mandy Moore was in – “A walk to remember”. She really has an angelic voice, there is no other way to describe it. Have you seen the movie? What brought you to Last.Fm? I mean, when did you first hear of it? I think signing up for Last.Fm was also one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I wish that songs were tagged better – because many unknown but talented artists don’t even have an artist page here on Last.Fm! I love the feeling of discovering music too, it makes my day! #1

    I have to say I only like a few of her tracks too but I love that Stromata one. the rest are a bit mediocre and bland really. I'm listening to a guy called Christopher Jak at the moment. Really chilled acoustic stuff, just him and a guitar. Wonderful.

    Haha, OMG. I love that you've just said "pophead"! I think this should be an official term! That just made me smile a lot! But yes, people even assume in real life that I am some sort of metal freak because I prefer wearing black clothes and I also have dark, long hair. I can see why you like that style of music and I REALLY think that I should tune in to your library sometime. Do you have a Spotify playlist? (If you use Spotify). #2

Great quote from a last fm music friend - "There has never been a real deficit of proper happy and thoughtful pop, as long as the real pop lovers know where to look. :-)". ~ Vanilla_boy1.

A wise pop music listener once said - "Believe it or not I feel that sometimes a person's emotions mean more than their level of intelligence. And that showing their feelings in a kind and loving way (giving real love) can also be read as a demonstration of intelligence...in the same way that someone's prowess for reasoning is." ~ * Vanilla_boy1

Welcome to my collection of dreamy & quirky female pop
with colorful personality and other types of great pop music. I'm really into enjoying albums in the full, drinking tea while pondering a nostalgic
thought and every now and then..making playlists (mixtapes) to suit my current mood.

I have a major appreciation for female vocalists. That's the special kind with a cute & fun quirky nature, romantic soul, depth in character and good ethos, and the like. :) I think the female voice, in all it's magical prowess can effectively comfort & replenish one's soul with positive energy.

I'm a collector of special female pop that has a major sense of originality and personality to it. Quirky and dreamy are what I'm going for. I like lyrics to tell intriguing stories and to inspire a good vibe of happiness.

More on what kind of music I like.

I love creative, well written and produced female pop!
Glowing imagination and the desire to be different and
express passion and love for life is what I respond to.
Really love jazz pop, ska (2 tone), shoegaze, new wave,
alternative pop and some folk pop as well.

I'm a serious music listener with narrow acceptance.
I generally don't like..
new emerging trendy artists who have nothing interesting
to say. Can't stand music where every song is about sex or
break up sap, abstract indie, trying to be unique and free but
only succeeds in showing you how unoriginal they are.

Don't like bad singers either. The quality of the singer matters
a lot to me. It's got to be strong or the music will flop.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saint Etienne is the best band in the world according to me.
