    Hey, Contradistinct! I enjoyed the new Alcest album. I dig their sound. No, I didn't get te DTP box set. I've been telling people that we pretty much missed winter. We had, what, 5 days of really cold weather? I'm heading out golfing today, the first time ever that I've played in March. So far this year, I've seen Deep Purple, Symphony X/ Iced Earth, Robert Glasper Experiment, Bombay Bicycle Club, Aaron Goldberg Trio, some small jazz shows that don't make it to Last.FM and my friend Mark David Stallard about 6 times. This week, it's Damo Suzuki and Propagandhi. Next week, John K Samson, Metal Alliance, Amber Epp (local jazz), Mark David Stallard and Anna-Lisa Kirby (local jazz.) I see you're going to see Opeth/Mastodon and Ghost. I am too! I saw Opeth the last time they were here and it was incredible! Without a doubt, this has been the warmest 12 months in Winnipeg that I can recall. Last year, my last golf game was Oct. 31 and here are 4.5 months later, golfing!

I listen to a wide variety of music, including indie pop/rock, rock/metal, jazz/blues, folk, ambient, reggae and much more. In the last two years, I went to about 80 concerts, about three a month, in places like Royal Albert, the WECC, Garrick, Burton Cummings Theatre, Pantages, Concert Hall and MTS Centre. I used to be a writer and have reviewed shows by and have met groups like Metallica, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and many more. I think that Devin Townsend is Canada's greatest secret, in terms of metal artists.

Upcoming shows include Soilwork/Jeff Loomis/Blackguard/The Browning/Wretched, Mark David Stallard, Billy Bragg, Paganfest, Chantal Kreviaziuk, Absu, Hypocrisy/Krisiun/Aborted/Arsis/Autumns End, Primus, Jethro Tull.
