Yeah, so I've been enjoying the latest album from Morning Musume. I thought I'd give it a quick review. Well, at least the new stuff.

1. HOW DO YOU LIKE JAPAN? ~Nihon wa Donna Kanji Dekka?~ : I don't know what to think about this track, honestly. When it first started, I was like "Oh God, I can't listen to this." But I did, and then I was like "Heh, that's kinda fun." So I listened to it again. Also, I have a soft spot for songs with lots of bad Engrish. o/' How you like this Jappan? o/'

3. Aozora ga Itsumademo Tsuzuku you na Mirai de Are!: I really liked this one. It was a nice, easy song to listen to. It wasn't too slow or boring, but it didn't take off, either.

5. INDIGO BLUE LOVE: Yeah, this one was a tad too slow for me. It was nice to listen to as well, but very seldom am I in the mood for ballads like this one. 'Tis nice, though.

6. Rainbow Pink : Tee. I LOVE this song. Well, I really don't enjoy hearing Koharu and Sayumi talk. Boring. And the "KOHA-PINK! KOHA-PINK!" chant kinda creeps me out. But after the song gets rolling, GOD. It's so darn cute. It's painfully cheerful. It's my kind of song. I made my husband listen to it. I think I saw his ears bleed.

8. Mushoku Toumei na Mama de: This song didn't really stand out to be. I thought it was okay, but not really anything special.

9. Purple Wind : I really liked this one. It had a great beat, and it's probably one of my favorites on the album. I wouldn't be surprised to see this track make an appearance as a single, or at least a c/w.

10. Sayonara SEE YOU AGAIN ADIOS BYE BYE Chaccha! : This one's a fun song, too. Infectious and catchy.

11. Chokkan 2 ~Nogashita Sakana wa Ookii Zo!~ (Mattaku Sono Toori Remix): Gawd, I love remixes. I listen to a lot of crazy stuff, and this is up there with some of Assemblage 23's remixes. Kinda out there, but still interesting enough for me to listen to. A lot of people can't get into it, but I can. It's way better than those other Chokkan versions. I think this is the best yet.

12. Joshi Kashimashi Monogatari 3: While on the subject of songs with multiple versions, JKM3 makes me want to cry. Honestly. The first JKM was genius. JKM2 was understandable, but JKM3 just makes me a sad panda. A saaaaad panda. And if JKM4 makes an appearance soon (same with Chokkan 3, these songs need to die honorable deaths), I'll just have to burn the building down.

Is this a good album? Well, yes and no. I think it's a great album, but for Morning Musume, it's not too great. I like this album a lot, but it just can't hold a candle to Ikimasshoi! or No. 5. So there you have it. Good album, but not anywhere close to MM's best.

Here's hoping the new single rocks the socks off this album.
