Thu 18 Oct – Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Plain White T's, Cute is What We Aim For

I saw The Young Wild Things Tour in Columbus (the first stop on the tour).

Cute Is What We Aim For kicked off the first half hour of the concert. I wish they would have been on for a little longer because we showed up a little late. We only caught them performing two songs. The Fourth Drink Instinct was awesome. It's one of my all time favorite songs. From what I saw, they are an awesome band to see live. They brought a lot of enthusiasm to the stage.

Next up was Plain White T's. This was probably the best band there to see live. They had good interaction with the crowd, and you could actually tell that they wanted to be there. The only bad thing is that they felt that many of the people in the crowd only knew them because of Hey There Delilah. I hope that wasn't true, but regardless the band was great. Hate (I Really Don't Like You) was performed great. I believe that is actually what opened with. You and Me–my favorite Plain White T's song–was amazing and put me in a good mood for the rest of the night.

Gym Class Heroes was the third band to play. They did a good job. At first they didn't have much crowd interaction (The fat blue kid from As Cruel As School Children made an appearance on the stage which was a pleasant surprise) but as the show went on they seemed to become more comfortable and showed that they were having a good time. The interaction between the band seemed a little strained but overall it didn't affect their performance. They covered an Arctic Monkeys song citing them as an influence. I got pretty excited about that because Arctic Monkeys is on of my favorite bands.

Fall Out Boy hit the stage with mixed enthusiasm. Pete Wentz was by far the best member of Fall Out Boy to see live. He was running around the entire time they performed. He climbed into the fans for the final song and did a lot of crowd interaction. He was the only one that talked to the crowd. Patrick Stump sucks live. He acts as if he is in the studio trying to record. I don't even know if he knew he was at a sold arena. Joe Trohman brought a lot of energy to the stage also, but for some reason he didn't stand out as well as Pete. The drummer just sat on the platform and played his drums. Absolutely zero crowd interaction there. If the other band members matched Pete's and Joe's enthusiasm then it would have been a much better show.
