murder ballads (if you don't already know) are generally folk songs which tell the story of a murder of some kind. basically, nick cave does a full album of these… and a bob dylan cover. he manages to make the story of stagger lee into what's essentially some gangsta folk thing, and makes kylie minogue listenable. I like that man.
