Sa., 28. Nov. – A Place to Bury Strangers
Here we go again - this time with something that's pretty new to me.
Actually I had never before heard of this band, but having joined hsf 98.1 MuRed recently, I accompanied Christin to learn how to do interviews and was rewarded with one of the best concerts I saw this year.

Opening act was Dag för Dag, a Swedish band that was really convincing with straight, plain rock.

Remarkable: vocalist Sarah Snavely's thrilling voice which made each and every song something special. It's something you want to hear again and again…
They got the audience into a real good mood, so of course everyone was ready and eager to see the main act starting.
Well, despite the gloomy band name and the sometimes moody lyrics A Place to Bury Strangers play energetic and lively post punk, and I think they really earned the honour of being dubbed New Yorks loudest band, because loud they were. But this music wasn't just loud. This sound, dominated by Oliver Ackermann's excellent guitar-play and the bands home-made effects, just goes up and down your spine. You just can't resist. That's what makes good music.
I don't think I'm alone with this opinion, as I saw the audience grooving like hell and the applause spoke for itself. But then, the band was really giving their best!

If only time hadn't passed that fast…
But then, they're still on tour in Germany and if you haven't seen them play yet, I can only recommend you to do so.
