Metronomy, y’see, are an incredibly precise art (it’s impossible to do ‘prog’ when your drummer is just microchips and wires - but hey, at least he won’t stink out the bus). Exact, yes, but also eclectic: German oompah, Moroccan nose-organ, French accordion and, um, jazz sax all get stirred into their cosmic broth, with the almighty ‘Heartbreaker’, ‘Radio Ladio’ and closing power-driver ‘You Could Easily Have Me’ showcasing their talents best. It should be annoying; instead, it’s brilliant.

2006 - PIP PAINE (PAY THE £5000 YOU OWE)
This was the real first album by Metronomy. It's more of a compilation actually, gathering works from 1999 to 2006. It was released three times. First time as a eleven track album with a very limited release. Then quickly after a second release with a 12th track 'New Toy' and a more conventional support. And finally in 2009 Because Music decided to do a re-issue, adding four b-sides and outtakes.

2008 - NIGHTS OUT
Nights Out is the first Metronomy album to have an actual theme and rather homogene sound. Metronomy kinda left the experimental electro behind and got a bit more pop. It was a great success with several singles.
