Hey! Just a little insight on Muse albums. o.o

Muse - Absolution

This was the first Muse album I ever got, and I must say, it's very addictive. I actually got it after hearing the song Time Is Running Out on a NewGrounds submission.

Anyways, this is probably my favorite Muse album, and it's fantastic in many ways. It starts off with the strong piano-driven song "Apocalypse Please," and then drops right into the song "Time Is Running Out," which is, like I said, a fantastic song, and probably one of my favorite songs to date.

Absolution is great in many ways, it has cool album art, the music is spectacular, it runs for nearly an hour (52:15 to be exact), and the music range is incredible. It has songs that are pretty much what you would consider rock songs, like Stockholm Syndrome and Hysteria, it has soft songs that are rather beautiful (Which is a term I rarely use, especially when reffering to music) like Blackout and Ruled By Secrecy, and it has songs that are kind of inbetween, like Apocalypse Please and Butterflies And Hurricanes.

All in all, Absolution is an amazing album, and I highly reccomend it.

Muse - Black Holes And Revelations

Ah, the newest Muse album, and a good one it is.

Like I said earlier today, I got another Muse CD today (Which I will get to later), and currently either that one or BHAR is my second favorite, I still need to listen to the other one more to decide.

Anyways, onto this CD. This CD is pretty much amazing. One of the things I love about Muse is their ability to retain a unique sense of sound so that you recognize it as "Muse," without making all their songs sound the same.

Black Holes And Revelations is much different from all their other albums, and yet, it sounds similar in certain ways that I can't really describe.

Anyways, it kicks off with Take A Bow, which is a great opening track. It starts soft and then grows into a spectacular array of musical goodness.

Interestingly, Black Holes And Revelations seems to differ on topics from previous albums, and while it still has plenty of songs that seem to be themed on love and relationships and things of that nature, it also has a lot of songs that are subtly (Or obviously) politically charged, such as Take A Bow, Soldier's Poem, Exo-Politics, etc. I think they have a good mix of these political songs and the other songs.

As far as music goes, the diversity isn't as strong here as Absolution, but it's still there. Most of the songs on this album are stronger, but there are also the softer songs like City Of Delusion (Which, interestingly, was built off the song Nature ). Well… City Of Delusion starts soft anyways.

Most of the soft songs grow into musical beasts, which isn't a bad thing, personally I love that. So really for musical diversity this is a great album like Absolution, because it still kept the diversity, but changed it up.

As for runtime, it's a little shorter than Absolution, but not by much. It's runtime is 45:30.

Black Holes And Revelations is an excellent Muse album, it has some awsome album art, and some awsome music, and is also highly reccomended behind Absolution.

And for the record Invincible is a fantastic song, and probably my favorite on the CD.

Muse - Origin Of Symmetry

Hmm, I remember getting this CD. I wanted it for months but all the stores were like "We don't have it, it's going to be re-released soon though." And I was like "ROAR HURRY UP!"

Okay well that's irrelevant, ANYWAYS…

Origin Of Symmetry, another great album, though I would probably say it's my least favorite Muse album, which isn't to say it's not good, I just don't preffer it over Absolution, Black Holes And Revelations, or Hullabaloo Soundtrack.

I guess my main problem with this CD is that a lot of the songs just don't… I don't know… Stick out to me, you know? They're good songs, but they don't have the same qualities as songs on other albums that made me love them.

Origin Of Symmetry does have some spectacular songs on it though, some of the songs that do stick out to me are New Born, Bliss, Plug In Baby, and Feeling Good.

Some of the songs are really good, but in my opinion, they just kind of drag on. For example, the song Citizen Erased, it starts off fantastic, but eventually leaves me wondering when it's going to end. That might be an unfair example though, considering it's the longest song on the album (About seven minutes).

Maybe I'm not being fair with this album though, because before I ever bought it I had downloaded a handful of songs that are on it (Including Megalomania, Dark Shines, and Feeling Good) and I loved them, and played them a lot. It could be that I just wore out the album before I ever even got it. I will admit that while now I feel like I've listened to Megalomania far too many times, it is a pretty great song.

When it comes down to it Origin Of Symmetry is actually quite amazing, combining soft, almost eerie songs (Like Megalomania) and upbeat rock songs (Like Bliss). It's reccomended, but personally I would get the other two albums first, perhaps even Hullabaloo Soundtrack, that is, if you ever find it.

Also… Shouldn't the word "symmetry" be symmetrical? Just a thought.

And for the record, my favorite song on this album is probably Bliss.

Muse - Hullabaloo Soundtrack

Indeed, tiz the album I just got today!

Like it says on that picture, it is a two disc set, but so far I've only listened to the first disc, which is the actual album. The second disc is a live concert recording, which I'm pretty excited to hear.

But yeah, for now I'm just going to review the actual album, which I must say, is amazing (But then again, haven't I said that about all of them so far?).

I would say even though I've only listened to this a total of one and a half times, I think it's better than Origin Of Symmetry, and maybe even Black Holes And Revelations.

It starts off with a rather… Well, different opening track: Forced In, then moves on to a little more normal song; Shrinking Universe.

One thing that's confusing and annoying me, however, is that on WMP it for some reason skips Forced In, and calls Shrinking Universe Forced In, and then it has a track later that's not on the CD track list. I don't know how to explain it, but it's confusing and annoying.

Anyways, back to the actual music, I love it. This CD is about as versatile as Absolution, and has the musical range of Black Holes And Revelations and Origin Of Symmetry combined. From the eerie sounds of Forces In and The Gallery to the upbeat rock of Shrinking Universe and Yes Please to the soft and beautiful (Once again, rarely used by me) sounds of Map Of Your Head, Nature, and Shine, this album is really quite a work of art.

The thing about Hullabaloo Soundtrack is that it's pretty rare. I've been looking for it for awhile, so I was extremely happy to see it in Best Buy today, and it was the only copy they had too. So if you see it, you should probably get it, because it's a pretty rare album. At least, it was for me.

Also, I still can't figure out the name, because it's not actually a soundtrack to a movie, or something… I don't know, it doesn't matter, it's awsome music!

And for the record, some favorites on this album right now are Shrinking Universe and Map Of Your Head.

Muse - Showbiz

Actually, I can't offer a review on this, because currently this is the only Muse album I don't own, and I want it! Ahh! It's another rarity, maybe someday I'll find it. :O
