I shall divide the artists that I'm interested in into "female singer-songwriters and female-fronted bands" (regardless of genres), "indie/alternative rock", and "miscellaneous". Some of these artists are already in my library, but the amount of plays are less than 100, so they qualify. I will continually add to the list and remove artists as I progress.

Well, I already said what I said about Ride, but I'm just curious what you'll think is the best Can album! :) Hope you have a higher tolerance for Morrissey than me...

OH GOD Fleetwood Mac. You absolutely must give Rumours a listen. It isn't the ninth best selling album of all time for no reason.

Seconding DepartureSong, I prefer FM in pop mode to early blues mode (where they made exactly two great songs, "Oh Well" and "Albatross").

Since you like Slowdive, you should check out Lush, who are similar. They're amazing.

I recommend Rasputina's How We Quit The Forest and Thanks For The Ethers. I also recommend Switchblade Symphony.

@starxnoxstar - I've tried Switchblade Symphony before! I already have TFTE, but I haven't listened to them. @DepartureSong - Rumours, definitely. I love "Dreams", and I probably will love the rest of the songs on the album.

If you ever end up loving Galaxie 500, I'd recommend Low afterwards! Fair warning tho', they're much more minimalistic and slowcore compared to the occasional shoegazey tendencies of G500. I love them right now, but they might bore you like Spacemen 3 bore me :)

Or okay, maybe it's also accurate to call them an unplugged Slowdive. If you loved Pygmalion, it might work out.
