You obviously love great lyrics like Joni's and Bruce's, so I thought I'd Friend you.

I'll give them a go. Tune-Yards is my favourite of the year so far tho love the PJ Harvey one too. Whokills gets better with every listen. Try Powa and Bizness. I love the feel of the Kurt Vile album too tho probably couldn't pick out a favourite song.

I wasn't expecting too much. I thought the songs that weren't that great before (Song Of Solomon, Lily, Top Of The City) were more fully formed but she shouldn't have remade the better songs like Moments of Pleasure and This Woman's Work. Not sure why she felt the need to do it. I think there were older songs she could have redone while she was at it.

I know-Hejira is such a beautiful, spiritual album (and so underrated)--the title track is one of my favorites. However, I have to say that Hissing of Summer Lawns edges it out as my favorite Joni album--all abstract suburban angst, artistic passion, with some of her best music and lyrics. Not sure what my all time #1 is-it tends to shift, but I'd have to go with The Dreaming. Difficult music made by a difficult woman. I'm pretty familiar with your top 20 artists, but I just checked out Camille and liked her a lot!

I heard Hejira for the first time probably 12 years ago, and everything I've heard since then, whatever genre it was, can't compare to how awesome it is. It will never get old! I did hear about the Greenpeace release and I'm looking forward to it too... it sounds quite a bit like the show she did for the BBC in 1970 with James Taylor, from the looks of the setlist. What I'm *really* interested in hearing is the box set from Rhino, with a bunch of studio outtakes (from what I hear) and (fingers crossed!) the alternate sessions for Mingus where she had different musicians play on the songs.
