This is also from the lastest Broadcast release, a film score. Very spectral. She's singing from the heaven.

I don't remember being particularly impressed by Two Against Nature but maybe it'll grow on me if I listen to it again. I also gotta give Sunken Condos another listen, too. I liked it the first time but haven't heard it again afterwards.

This is probably as close as you'll get to touching some of Burt and Hal's early stuff.

Have you listened to the "Look of Love" compilation?

The five track-run at the end of TMbP, from "Papercuts" to "City in Progress" is just perfect. The whole album just evokes black and white cinema.

I saw your shout on the Residents' page, wondering about the stories for the Animal Lover album, and you can actually read them all here: http://www.residents.com/historical4/animal/

As for Broadcast, I'd start with the Work and Non-Work EP which is their dreamiest and then move up from there (it get significantly less dreampoppy with each album)

I admit that Propeller is not one of my favorites.. Alien Lanes and Under the Bushes are my favorites and great albums to start at. They have the highest hit ratio imo if you're looking for something that's not so lo-fi, then pretty much any album Mag Earwig! and up will do

I got around to listening to Painted From Memory, so thanks. There are a few gems on there and the album is just as you described it. Elvis isn't overwriting things, as he is wont to do. Bacharach was an apt collaborator.

I read your comment about idiosyncrasy on Gruff's page and all I got is three words: Lovekraft, my man.

Never knew 3rd had an alternate track list. That sounds like something neat to try with other albums. Your comment reminds me of Skylarking
