You usually sit down to listen to a new CD hoping that it won't be a waste of your time and that it will fit your tastes but also stretch you out. In other words, growth inside your own specific likes.
Many times you like one or two songs and that's it, the others bore you for one reason or another.
But once in a while you discover something that raises the standard for everything else you listen to going forward.
The newest CD from Citadel ® (also at Citadel® and Citadel ) is the newest standard in my library. Covering so many styles and moods and subjects and sounds and tempos and - well, there were three songs I loved right away, then on the second listen/read, four more joined my faves and by the third listen I was so confused that I couldn't pick a favorite any longer. Plus, the words are real poems, which is a plus for me too.
It is NOT on Last.fm yet but there are cuts on the band's iLike profile and a dozen or so other profiles. But I got mine on CD from CDBaby after downloading it from DigStation, I also saw it on iTunes.
Maybe it's because they've been around for 30 years that I figured they may get a little more commercial or less complex…very, very not so. If you take a risk and get it and don't like it, let me know in my shoutbox @ Progfestive.
I am really impressed with this CD and the midi guitar work of Rejyna is what blows me away most. I cannot believe how real her emulations come across in the mix.
So, I'm just giving you all a heads up because if you're here on last.fm, it isn't because you're closed-minded. Find it, buy it, shout back at me. Look for the magic…
