It's been a year since I decided to reset my listetning history. One of the reasons why I decided to do so was that I was bored with the same band occupying the 1st place almost since the week one. Besides, I wanted to clean some mess, such as mistagged songs, albums, etc. Finally, I was simply curious what the list would look like after some time.

Oddly enugh, it was only this year that I started to go to concerts. Somehow, quite a lot of bands that I like decided to come to Poland in 2008, which gave me a great opportunity to see what it woild be like to enjoy their music live. So far I've only dedicated separate journal entries to 2 gigs (one of them written in Polish) so now I've decided to write an entry summarising all the concerts I've been to in 2008 including those I described earlier.

Dotarłem na miejsce ok. 18, a cała impreza nazwana Poznań Dark Festiwal miała zacząć się ok. 19 i obejmować występy 3 zespołów: wrocławskiej Egrimonii, warszawskiego At the Lake i poznańskiej Lilith.

Niestety koncert opóźnił się o ponad 1h, a to ze względu na przedłużające się próby dźwięku, z którym ciągle coś było nie tak. Ok 20.10 zaczęła grać Egrimonia. Jakiś czas wcześniej znalazłem na last.fm 4 ich piosenki, dzięki czemu mniej więcej wiedziałem czego się spodziewać. Wysoko śpiewającej i ślicznej wokalistce/skrzypaczce towarzyszył dość upiornie wyglądający growler, który jednak w razie potrzeby potrafił też zaśpiewać czysto. Muzycznie utwory były dość typowo…

When I logged in less than an hour ago, I was greeted by a friend of mine who surprised me with a great news :) Tarja Turunen is going to give a concert in Poland ! :D It's been only a week since I came back from the Nightwish gig in Kraków and suddenly it turns out that "the missing part" of the band is going to visit Poland as well. I'm over the moon \m/

Another bands discovered on last.fm appeared on my list since the last journal entry and some of them found their way into the Top 50. Their march upward will probably continue, since I found them very interesting.
Here are those I liked the most (in random order):
Kivimetsän Druidi - Finnish female fronted band. Apart from female vocals they also use male growls. What sets them apart from many similar bands is the fact that they mainly sing in Finnish, which is a good thing considering the ubiquity of English, which evemtually starts to become slightly boring.
