IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle, for every question, type the song that's playing
3. Press play
4. When you go to a new question, press the next button
5. Don't lie and try to pretend your cool…

FYI: I did this in the car on my iPod… I only did the shuffle with songs that I rated 5 out of 5 stars to make sure I would get good songs because I have 1201 songs that are rated 5 out of 5 stars out of 7200 songs on my iPod… so it’s still a big list of songs to put on random… here’s what I got…

Opening Credits:
Undying by Demon Hunter – from the album The Triptych

(gotta start it off with some headbangin’ Christian metal…
“Tearing through these days I find the tolerance to strive and push on /
I know what lies beyond this life for me is already won /
No one can take away the blood that covers over my fall /
Without the blood of perfect life I know I’m nothing at all /
So now I reign forever hallowed in eternity’s hand /
No man can shake me from the everlasting ground that I stand”)

Waking Up:
This is to Fire!! by The Graduate – from the album Horror Show - EP

(Indie/Punk band… great song to wake up to… buy it on iTunes)

First Day At School:
E.I.(edited) by Nelly – from the album Country Grammar

(sweet hip hop song for the first day at school…“Andele andele moma E.I. E.I., uh ohhhhhhhh/ I drive fasty, call me Jeff Gordon / In a black SS wit a navagation”)

Falling in Love:
I Trust You by Skillet – from the album Invincible

(doesn’t fit)

Fight Song:
New Way to be Human by Switchfoot – from the album New Way to be Human

(doesn’t really fit…good lyrics though… “Nobody's famous and nobody's fine / We all need forgiveness; we're longing inside”)

Breaking Up:
I’m Lost Without You by blink-182 – from the album blink-182

(pretty fitting song…. “I will go down as your lover, your friend/ …Are you afraid of being alone / Cause I am, I'm lost without you / Are you afraid of leaving tonight?”)

Prom:
Will Not Fade by Audio Adrenaline – from the album Hit Parade

(great song back in ’01… great lyrics… “For all these years / I've traveled on…What I am / And who I am / Is never gonna change… I will not be swayed / I've always been / What I am / The world can clearly see / I won't fade away”)

Life is Good:
Summer of ‘69 by Bryan Adams – from the album Reckless

(I LOVE this song… absolutely perfect for this category… I couldn’t have picked it any better myself… “That summer seemed to last forever / And if I had the choice / Ya - I'd always wanna be there / Those were the best days of my life”)

Mental Breakdown:
Why Can’t This Be Love by Van Halen – from the album 5150

(I guess I’m distraught over a girl or something, I don’t know… “Oh here it comes again / That funny feelin again winding me up inside / Every time we touch”)

Driving:
Everything That’s Beautiful by Chris Tomlin – from the album Not to Us

(good upbeat worship song that you can sing along to… it’s a good song to drive to… “With rain, with sun / With much, with less / With joy, with pain / With life, with death / The only things that satisfy come from You… the Father of Lights… the Giver of Life”)

Flashback:
Fireproof by Pillar – from the album Fireproof

(fitting song… I loved that album back when it came out in ’02… it’s what got me really into Christian rock music… and this song was the lead single, the first one I heard, and my initial favorite… it’s still classic… amazing lyrics too… “Now you know what I'm all about / There's no chance I'll ever doubt / The only one who can control me / I extol the Almighty / You want me to put it on the line / And give yield to you this time / See but I won't compromise and I realize / It's my time to rise”)

Wedding:
Phoenix with a Heartache by Kids in the Way – from the album Safe from the Losing Fight

(this is kind of a weird song for a wedding, but some of the lyrics fit… “Now you're taking me away with you tonight / and I know that I can't fly / But when I'm in your arms / I'm holding up the sky/ …And there you were, standing there / Like an answer to a dream I never had / You… showed me everything I never knew about me.” Anyways, this is a sweet rock song… probably my favorite Kids in the Way song… and that’s saying a lot since Kids in the Way is pretty much amazing.

Birth of a Child:
Black Balloon by Goo Goo Dolls – from the album Dizzy up the Girl

(so this is pretty odd for the birth of a child, although he does say the words “baby” “womb” (out of context of course… “Baby's black balloon makes her fly… and scatter like ice from the spoon that was your womb”)

Final Battle:
Supafly by The O.C. Supertones – from the album Hi-Fi Revival

(so Wally & I were thinking this would be an amusing fight sequence to say the least, like the fight scene from Anchorman or something, since the song is so fun and upbeat… “We came to rock the sure shot / We came to do the robot,”

Funeral Song:
First Day of the Rest of Your Life by MxPx – from the album Before Everything & After

(pretty funny for a funeral… it’s true for someone who’s going to heaven though… although the song is really about moving on after a break-up…. I love this song though… probably my favorite MxPx song EVER… which is saying a heck of a lot… I mean, MxPx is by far my most listened to artist on last.fm… and I’ve loved them for over a decade… I already shared some of my favorite lyrics to this song in an earlier journal entry, but here’s the chorus…. “First day of the rest of our lives / I miss you already / Last time I saw that look in your eyes / I miss you already.”

End Credits:
Step Into the Light by Chasing Victory – from the album A Not So Tragic Cover Up

(this is a sweet way to end the movie to my life as this song is a new favorite of mine and Chasing Victory is AWESOME, and it’s cool how my opening credits and end credits are the only 2 “screaming songs.” The chorus has some of the best screams I’ve ever heard. And the lyrics are really good… “We'll never be alive until we open up our eyes / Step into the light / …Everyone can plainly see we were never dead / We were searching for a contagious disease / I guess we'll never understand it / We'll never be alive until we open up our eyes.”

I hope you enjoyed seeing my life movie… now you gotta try this game and post your results… it’s fun!!
