  • Since I decided to pay for this thing...

    15 maj 2009, 23:21

I should use it a little more.

First thing, listen to the radio. What did I chose to listen to? The only band I have ALL the cds. Yes, I still buy CDs.

I think I should say which band is it, right? Oh well... Nevermore it is. Hopefully I'm going to see them at [event=]Wacken[/event] this year.

    <off topic>
OMG! Just learned that Anthax is going to play at W:O:A! \o/
    </off topic>

So... what else is there to do in this little place so called Paid Last.fm?

Ok, second track on the paid radio: My own savior. Guess what? I have this cd too... Please Last.fm, show me something new.

For me? Off for today... and tomorrow, [event=]Heaven & Hell[/event] \,,/

  • The Old Days

    3 aug 2008, 04:15

My old days are not that old. Old for me (about this matter) is 3, 4 years ago.

Concerts here in Brazil were a very unusual thing. I remember that 2 (3 at the most) were scheduled per year and we were all anxious to go to them. Probably a few more were scheduled, but I couldn't afford.

Now everything has changed. I can afford and there's a lot of stuff going on.

The problem is that (I cannot believe I'm going to say that) I'm getting tired. Maybe is just age.

Today I went to see Grave Digger again. But I went there, not because I like the band (I really do), but because I didn't want to stay at home. Kinda sucks this feeling of being in some place not because you love it.

Or maybe it's just I'm not in my best mood these days...

There's a lot more waiting for me though... I should get prepared.

Bands do come: Tarja, Symphony X, Judas Priest, Carcass, Scorpions and a few more.
  • 2008 so far

    15 maj 2008, 02:22

Wow, I haven't written here since Children Day (Oct, 12th - is thas Kids Day around the world too?). But why would I? Nobody reads this shit anyways. No idea why I'm writing right now. Feeling nostalgic I guess.

Since I haven't posted anything this year, I should mention how my year have been so far. It's been great, thanks for asking.

Got a job, an apartment and now I can afford concerts. How cool is that?

I also got lucky to finnish school at the same time all the bands in the world decided to play here in Brazil.

January and February were weak months. No concerts. Well, actually, in Feb, Deep Purple played here, but I didn't attend because I had no money that month.

In early March, I went to the Somewhere Back in Time tour of Iron Maiden. Do I need to say it ruled? Best concert of the year. No doubt of that. A month later, OzzY, Black Label Society and Korn. I won't link Korn here because I really deslike this band. I've been to a Korn concert... it sucks... so don't come to me saying I should listen before say they sucks. Don't waste your breath.

BLS was a nice show... short and cold, but nice. Ozzy was great, but not the best concert I've seen.

Two weeks later, I attended to Gamma Ray and Helloween. It fun! I had a lot of fun in this concert. Helloween is always a huge fun :D Love it.

This friday I'm going to see Queensrÿche and the ticket to see Circle II Circle is already bought. Friday I'll also buy Megadethticket who will play here next month too. I'm still deciding whether I should go see U.D.O. or not.
Eric Martin is going to play here too... ALSO next month. Dr. Sin will be the opening band.

The other bands that are going to play here this year are:
Grave Digger, Scorpions, Avantasia, Tristania, Joey Belladonna, Martin Walkyier, Jeff Scott Soto, Avantasia and probably a few more bands that are not announced yet. This bands are going to play in June and August. I still can't believe no one is playing in July. o.O

Only Iced Earth doesn't come to Brazil!!! Why is that??? ¬¬

  • How eclectic is your musical style?

    12 okt 2007, 22:49

Take your top 20 artists. For each of these artists, collect the top 5 similar artists. The resulting number of unique artists is your eclectic score. If the score is small (extreme = 5) your musical preferences are very limited, and if it is large (larger than 80, extreme = 100), then you have an eclectic musical preference. You can compute your own score at http://anthony.liekens.net/pub/scripts/last.fm/eclectic.php

    My eclectic score is currently

The 80 related artists for my profile are AC/DC (2), Aerosmith(3), Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper, America, Barenaked Ladies, Bon Jovi, Bonnie Tyler, Bright Eyes, Bryan Adams, Chicago (2), Chuck Berry, Counting Crows, Danger Danger, Dave Matthews Band, Deep Purple, Def Leppard (2), Demons & Wizards, Dido, Disney, Elliott Smith, Evanescence, Extreme, Forty Deuce, Greg Howe, Guns N' Roses (3), Hall & Oates, HammerFall, Hans Zimmer, Hardline, Helloween, Hootie & the Blowfish, Howard Shore, Iced Earth, Iron & Wine, Jack Johnson, James Horner, Jewel, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Lynn Turner, John Lennon, John Williams, Kiss (2), Led Zeppelin (4), Little River Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marilyn Manson, Mr. Big, Paul Gilbert, Phil Collins, Phish, Poison, Queen (3), Rainbow(2), Richard Marx, Richie Kotzen & Greg Howe, Rod Stewart, Roy Orbison, Scorpions(2), Seals & Crofts, Sheryl Crow, Skid Row, Sonata Arctica, Sufjan Stevens, System of a Down, Tak Matsumoto Group, The 69 Eyes, The Allman Brothers Band, The Beach Boys, The Beatles (2), The Doors, The Rasmus, The Rolling Stones (3), The Who, Tori Amos, U2, Uriah Heep, Van Halen (2), Vertú, Whitesnake(2)

  • Richie Kotzen + Eric Martin do São Paulo

    1 okt 2007, 19:15

Sun 30 Sep – Richie Kotzen & Eric Martin - São Paulo
Domingo 30 Set – Eric Martin & Richie Kotzen

This Sunday i went to see Richie Kotzen and Eric Martin Concert. In what moment of the history of the universe did Kotzen get bigger than the Mr. Big frontman? Oh well... whatever, they were great.

This concert was the second one this year that really touched me. Maybe because Mr. Big and Richie Kotzen really mean something in my life. Oh... how sweet :P

But enough with the babbling and let's talk concert now.

The concert happened at Stones Music Bar, a place far from everything else in the world. It's a very beautiful place though, but not for concerts. It's a "balada" place, but it didn't make any difference.

It was cold outside. We stood in line for 2 hours. It sucked a lot. In the ticket it was written that it was planned to start at 7 pm with the band Snow opening. At 7 they opened the bar. ¬¬

Inside we waited another hour, but it was ok, because Snow didn't play after all. =]

Around 8 something, Eric's concert started with a solo song that I don't remember the name. It was clear (for me at least) that the public didn't know his solo career that much, but everybody sand along with Mr. Big songs like Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy, Superfantastic, Colorado Bulldog and of course, To Be With You.

Eric Martin is looking old... but only his face. His voice, his charisma, is still the same and he is a fucking great frontman. He was the second most amazing thing of the night.

After 1:30 of show, under the applause of a full house, he left the stage, came back for the bis and left again =].

15 min later, he enters... He, my platonic love >=] Richie Kotzen. As this is about the music, I won't say how handsome, hot, charming (did I say smoking hot? If I didn't that's the plan) he is.

... Because music is what really matters...

Almost the whole concert was about his solo career, but he also played some Poison songs, like Stand.

What I like most about Kotzen, is that he is complete. He's an amazing guitar player but that's not all he cares about. He's a great singer too and a great song writer.

After his set list, Eric joined him and they played together Shine (best part of the concert IMO) and 30 Days in the Hole.

At the end, Eric Martin's band also joined the stage and sang along. Cute moment.

Can't wait to buy the DVD! I think Joo and I might show on the DVD. If you see a blond girl holding a pink Mr. Big shirt, i'm behind her ¬¬

    That's it.

    Amazing Night!

  • Blind Guardian - Great once again

    19 mar 2007, 03:01

Sat 17 Mar – Blind Guardian

Blind Guardian played in Sao Paulo yesterday and it was great. As good as it was in 2002. I must agree that the set list was not the most creative one, but who cares? We just love the classics.

The concert was opened with War of Wrath followed by Into the Storm (just like 2002).

    Here´s the set list:

    01 - War Of Wrath
    02 - Into The Storm
    03 - Born In A Mourning Hall
    04 - Nightfall
05 - Script For My Requiem
    06 - Fly
    07 - Valhalla
08 - Time Stands Still (At The Iron Hill)
09 - And The Story Ends
    10 - Majesty
    11 - Another Stranger Me
    12 - Bright Eyes
13 - And Then There Was Silence

14 - Imaginations From The Other Side
    15 - The Bard's Song - In The Forest
    16 - Mirror Mirror
17 - Barbara Ann (com Edu Falasci e Felipe Andreoli)

The only thing I didn't like was Edu Falasci ruining Barbara Ann. Why these brazilians have to sing with the gringos?? Same happenened at Helloween's concert with Andre Matos.

If we wanted to see Angra, we would have bought Angra's tickets. Edu is a great guy, a very nice person and stuff, but what he did last night, just sucked.

The song from the new album, Fly and Another Stranger Me were well recieved and people just sang along with the germans.

And then there was Silence was awesome. In 2002 I was very disappointed they didn't played that song... it was worth to wait almost 5 years. Just beautiful.

Bard's Song was just wonderful. Lovely. No need to say more.

The funniest moment of the concert was when a friend of mine said that Hansi looked like a Care Bear (Ursinho Carinhoso). There was these moments that he did that movement like the Care Bears do and a rainbow, a cloud just come out of their bellies. The other friend of mine spent the rest of the show just laughing like hell.
