This Sunday i went to see Richie Kotzen and Eric Martin Concert. In what moment of the history of the universe did Kotzen get bigger than the Mr. Big frontman? Oh well… whatever, they were great.
This concert was the second one this year that really touched me. Maybe because Mr. Big and Richie Kotzen really mean something in my life. Oh… how sweet :P
But enough with the babbling and let's talk concert now.
The concert happened at Stones Music Bar, a place far from everything else in the world. It's a very beautiful place though, but not for concerts. It's a "balada" place, but it didn't make any difference.
It was cold outside. We stood in line for 2 hours. It sucked a lot. In the ticket it was written that it was planned to start at 7 pm with the band Snow opening. At 7 they opened the bar. ¬¬
Inside we waited another hour, but it was ok, because Snow didn't play after all. =]
Around 8 something, Eric's concert started with a solo song that I don't remember the name. It was clear (for me at least) that the public didn't know his solo career that much, but everybody sand along with Mr. Big songs like Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy, Superfantastic, Colorado Bulldog and of course, To Be With You.
Eric Martin is looking old… but only his face. His voice, his charisma, is still the same and he is a fucking great frontman. He was the second most amazing thing of the night.
After 1:30 of show, under the applause of a full house, he left the stage, came back for the bis and left again =].
15 min later, he enters… He, my platonic love >=] Richie Kotzen. As this is about the music, I won't say how handsome, hot, charming (did I say smoking hot? If I didn't that's the plan) he is.
… Because music is what really matters…
Almost the whole concert was about his solo career, but he also played some Poison songs, like Stand.
What I like most about Kotzen, is that he is complete. He's an amazing guitar player but that's not all he cares about. He's a great singer too and a great song writer.
After his set list, Eric joined him and they played together Shine (best part of the concert IMO) and 30 Days In The Hole.
At the end, Eric Martin's band also joined the stage and sang along. Cute moment.
Can't wait to buy the DVD! I think Joo and I might show on the DVD. If you see a blond girl holding a pink Mr. Big shirt, i'm behind her ¬¬
