Well, the confused order of tracks doesn't matter to me, but that thing with non-english characters is surely bad, though I didn't experience it so far.

I haven't heard many different recordings of the violin concerto yet, but the one by Kenneth Jean, Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra & Takako Nishizaki is probably the best. http://www.amazon.de/Beethoven-Violinkonzert-Nishizaki-T/dp/B0000275AL

Also, you seem to like neofolk/martial industrial stuff, did you ever try Rome? They're not in your library so I guess not. I would highly recommend them. Their debut Nera is probably a good start.

Hey, I saw your post in the support forums about lost scrobbles. Not sure if you know, but there is a tool called universal scrobbler that let's you scrobble music manually by click. You can even scrobble whole albums at once if they are in the Musicbrainz database. Btw I highly recommend this site for high quality transfers/remasterings from old (usually mono) recordings: http://www.pristineclassical.com I already ordered the first volume of Artur Schnabel's Beethoven sonatas and the quality is night and day compared to the transfer I had before. Gonna order the rest of it soon and probably some Furtwängler recordings or so.

Sorry, I can't really think of any examples of pandiatonicism off the top of my head. However, if you're looking for atonal music that isn't grating, Alban Berg might be your cup of tea. He was a disciple of Schoenberg but, unlike his teacher and fellow students, he didn't avoid familiar tertian harmonies in his work, so it sounds more familiar even without a key. Luigi Dallapiccola is another possibility.

No, that wasn't the question exactly. I just... I mean isn't hungary overrun with corruption and run by the mob for what have i heard? Also, the original culture is fading.

Unfortunately, the current government is under the influence of ultra-nationalists. The worst thing is that in a period of turmoil ,nationalists seized a large quantity of weapons. It is authorities fault. Even after the overthrow of Yanukovych they didn't throw weapons. Now armed and controlled groups commit crimes. The Eastern part of Ukraine rebuff this groups. Also, the new government immediately made laws, that infringe Russian- speaking population, which is more than 50%. Therefore, the Russian-speaking South-East part of Ukraine and Crimea are indignant at this situation and generally want to separate from Ukraine. Nationalism in any form is a great evil.

I'm from Eastern Ukraine. Definitely - Yanukovych presidency nothing good for the country and brought his resignation was a matter of time. Ouster of Yanukovych should happen only through democratic means, not by coup. In fact, the country is split into two parts, and God forbid we force to avoid civil war. Worldwide events in Ukraine highlights the lopsided - without consulting the East. The truth is always in the middle ;0(

No. Maybe I misspoke. The CD that I have is this: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/wagner-overtures-preludes/id218298600. This is not all of Wagner, but for newbies like me, I think it's fine. The CD only contains the "basic" of the overtures and preludes of his main operas. I have already worn the disc. Thank you very much for the recommendations. They are very interesting to me. I have the Bruckner 4th by Karajan. I will purchase something you've recommended me. Thanks!

Hello again. Some time ago you recommended me "Der fliegende Holländer" Wagner and I love it. This time I am writing to ask your advice. I'm looking for a orchestral work similar to 'Tristan und Isolde: Prelude'. But other than Wagner or Strauss because i have them. I bought the Wagner: 'Overtures and Preludes', and i looking for something similar. Thank you very much!

Have you heard Philippe Herreweghe's Bruckner recordings? I have the Symphony No. 7 disc and, while I kind of like it, I'm not sure I want to track down the rest of his recordings.

2004? There was no tournament in that year. We played in 2002 and 2006 in World Championship and in 2008 & 2012 in Euro (in the last case only because we were the host...). There are no successes and always when we have to play with Germany or England there are materials on tv from '70 titled e.g. "Tomaszewski - the man who stopped England" (the match ended with score 1:1), with Germany we haven't won in whole history. As you can see - having "good players" from BVB is not enough, mainly because they do not play in the representation as well as in the club. The example of Iceland or Switzerland shows you don't need to have great names in representation or world-wide known coach. Maybe for them it's issue of honour or national pride, own ambitions... I have no clue.

I haven't seen today's match England vs. Poland, but it was obvious our team to lose. So, we're on the 4th place in the group - behind Montenegro, England and Ukraine. Only Moldova and San Marino were worse... It's so embarrassing. In the country where live 40 milion people we cannot find 22 good players and proper coach. Unbelievable.

    oktober 2013
  • mkIVPanzer

Don't worry - Poland hasn't promoted to World Championship as well. We lost the group where were teams from San Marino or Montenegro. What's more - as the only team we lost a goal in match against San Marino. I've just read that there is an idea of hiring Jupp Heynckes or Dick Advocat as a coach of Polish National Team, but I really doubt it. Anyway for me there's no hope for current team and doesn't matter who will lead them...

Yeah I agree, the Lehrsymphonie isn't very good, but I guess that's not surprising considering the nature of the work.

Okay, thanks again for recommending. I'll definitely try the full 9th, at least to compare. I can't say much about Bruckner yet since I only gave him one spin so far, but I definitely liked all the symphonies except maybe the Nullte and Lehrsymphony. He's certainly not boring, if I'd say that about any symphony composer, then it would be Mozart :D Have you heard Mahler's full 10th? There are many different versions of completion. I liked Kurt Sanderling's recording very much.

Thanks. I don't like Karajan much with Beethoven (except his '63 5th) however it might be different with Bruckner. But first I'll spin the recording I have (Tintner, complete cycle) some more. Which is your favourite symphony?

Hello, I see you have excellent taste for classical music. What would you recommend me to start opera with Wagner?. Although I love most Italian opera (Verdi's Rigoletto...), I would like to know more than the Wagner ring. thanks

Yeah, I think I should try something else from him as well, but I'm never sure what exactly to try, so I'll probably try those rhapsodies you mentioned. Yes, exactly, he is difficult to listen to for me as well. What would you recommend from Verdi?

    maj 2013
  • Sviests4

This was a second time I listened to him I think. To his string quartets in particular. They are good, but nothing spectacular, don't really stay in mind for too long, unlike the ones of Beethoven. They even start to get boring at one point, so I can't say I like them much either :D

I agree with you, but civil servants must pretend they're doing something. And that's the result..

    april 2013
  • mkIVPanzer

Ok, to explain my question I must make a short notice: in Polish "s" we read as in Hungary you read "sz" and conversely ("sz" -> "s"). And it turns out in Warsaw we have a street named "Szegedyńska" (from the Hungarian city Szeged) but because of the pronouciation city's offices want to change the name of the street to "Segedyńska", since someone told them what it means. The problem is that all habitants of that street must change their documents and so on and it costs a lot, so they're on strike. Short story about some Polish absurds ;)

    april 2013
  • mkIVPanzer

Maybe it's more difficult, however look at Sweden's or Ukraine's national teams - there is only Ibrahimović/ used to be Shevchenko and they did quite well. The same with Danemark. In Borussia play 3 Polish - and in BVB they're able to create situations in opposite to representation. I agree that whole team should make a game, however the rest players ought to be craftsman and work hard for situations for Lewandowski/ Błaszczykowski/ Piszczek/ whatever. All I'm saying is that the quality and class of a good player you can recognize in a way he plays in national team, not in league. Btw - is it true that "seged" means "your ass"? ;) Later I'll tell you why I'm asking ;)

    april 2013
  • mkIVPanzer

You know what? here, the biggest problem is that Lewandowski is from Poland. I used to like BVB as a child, then they became neutral to me. Then, of course, they started getting on my nervs, but not because of the fact that they took away the titles from Bayern, but because in Poland there are many "season fans' of BVB, everyone speaks about "Polish Borussia" and whole football discussion in Poland is bound to Borussia and Lewandowski (sometimes to Błaszczykowski and Piszczek too as a "Polish Trio in Borussia). And it's extremely annoying, since suddenly everyone is interested in Bundesliga, but only in one particular team (or even not a team, but one person). When you're watching e.g. Bayern's match or Poland's match on tv you might have an impression that on a football field is only Lewandowski oraz instead of Bayern plays BVB.And that's the main reason why I don't like Borussia Dortmund so badly and why I'm not fully proud of Robert. The truth is that in representation he plays shit.

Thanks. I have the 1966 Bayreuther Festspiele w/ Böhm, Nilsson, Windgassen on DG and the studio recording with Furtwängler & Philharmonia. A while back, someone recommended the Fritz Reiner w/ Melchior & Flagstad from 1936. If I had to pick a desert island 'Ring cycle, it would probably be the 1953 Clemens Krauss set.

We used to have wonderful handball team, but since out coach - Bogdan Wenta left representation, some of key players followed him and now it doesn't look good. Anyway, you're right - Hungary is better and better in that sport.
