Hey what is your pic of? I was just wondering because it was stuck on a wall on a TV show I saw recently and I realised I'd seen it before...

Hey there! That flying spaghetti monster picture of yours got my attention. Awesome choice and some great musical choices you got here.

Ramble on, my friend. If you say the Mastodon album is that good, then I'm on board. Was gonna pick it up anyway but I can't wait anymore. I've been digging Boris - Smile..I think it is on par with Pink overall but perhaps not as catchy..More diverse, I think.

Shit, if I had a dime for each time I replied to myself on here...well I'd have at least 40 or 50cents. ;) i know what you mean with Veil. I started to get a warm fuzzy feeling after a couple tracks but still its juxtaposed against dark fuzzies. I like that. Kinda like thinking about suicide but glad you didn't do it..Or something like that.

The Prophecy hit me really hard, man. I'm about 5 spins in now. Been meaning to update you..Its all overwhelming and all outstanding albums. Right now I'm enjoying Veil. Really cool. I love that buzzy, atmospheric, kill yourself BM. Ha.

I didn't know that you were new to Melvins, allthough I was gonna mention them when I sent that list to you. Melvins is one of my all time faves. Basically got me into most of the drone, doom and sludge I listen to now. Check out Gluey Porch Treatments. That was my intro to Melvins back in like '86-'87..That album fucked up my universe and as far as I know there was nothing like it at the time. I caught Boris last year here in NYC..It was a free show. Unreal and so energetic. Pink is a great album. Amplifier Worship is, as well. Yeah, I love both of these bands.

Shit, I just through on Melvins - Boris. Went to post it on the MR now playing thread and there is the album cover of Houdini staring back at me. Cracks me up when this happens.

I missed the PM, didn't notice it. I replied just now. Damn, you sent that a week ago!

Yeah, I learned to appreciate music on a more complex aesthetic level. Just so happens most of that music is within the metal genre! I still like some music outside of metal of course, but even some of my friends still ask me why I still listen to "that heavy shit". Some people will NEVER understand what its like to zone out to a band like Esoteric.

It is an escape. I remember in junior high, my music teacher said that everyone will eventually forget about Iron Maiden (this convo was sparked because I was wearing a Maiden shirt) and I disagreed fully. However, at that point, I was afraid he might be right since I was young and naive. But, here I am still blasting their albums. Its like fucking therapy. Heavy Metal shall live on forever and I made a point in the forums that Lee's gut reaction is to protect it. I relate to that.

I heard Cemetery Earth is heavier than Eternity Revealed. How does it compare? That Root you are listening to was ripped on in the MR forums because of the vocals, as you prolly know. I don't understand. Boss's vox oozes heavy metal.

Valkyrie - Man of Two Visions has been rocking my ass lately. Been spinning it twice a day on average. Makes me feel like a kid again.

How is that Revelation album? Seems like its been highly praised.

Yessir. Everything about Eternity Revealed is no less than phenomenal. I love the vocals too. Soulful. The album has a bluesy doom swagger going on which I love. And my volume knob keeps creeping up little by little. It just can't be helped. Man, this sounds good loud.

I had heard of Krallice because they are from NY..I wasn't expecting such greatness, however. I believe they decided to get together to write an album, yet they don't really have a black metal background..I've heard the term "hipster metal" get tossed at them which is utter bullshit. Also, I was just thinking a short time ago of asking if you have Watching From a Distance and then I noticed that you were listening to it. Go figure! Could you put that one in the next batch if it isn't too much trouble?

I'm good. Been overdosing on music for the last couple days. That Stoned to Black comp is like a wish list - all bands I've been wanting to check out. Exactly the type of black metal that I love. Elite and Krallice is blowing my mind..Lugubrum is really cool as well, very unique. I could go on and on..Leviathan...Taake..This shit is of the highest grade, prime choice black metal, man. That description of Deadbird is very MR worthy..Ever think about writing reviews?
