I'd have seen Paul Simon if he didn't clash with anyone heavily. Frank Turner will be great I think, and some great aussie bands joining in now like Saskwatch and The Snowdroppers, not to mention Hat Fitz there as always. I'll definitely be feeling a bit down when March rolls around and I'm not there, but it'll just strength my resolve to be there for 2014!

Still not impressed with the latest line up, BUT, Madness!! I'll have to see their side show for sure!

Ryan wore that outfit -----------> on Letterman performing Fix It. :) Probably my favourite performance of his on youtube.

Oh yeah what little I've heard of the Frames I have liked , Fitzcarraldo is an absolutely brilliant song! They might be a possible side show to see. Trombone Shorty and Blind Boys have been stand outs at past Bluesfests, but not a great deal really piquing my interest just yet ... which I kind of like because it may make the decision a bit easier but i'm sure over the next few announcements it'll get more and more tempting. I'm honestly more counting down the days till Morrissey in december, he's my all time #1 fav and never thought I'd get to see him again!

I don't know if money is going to let me :( This will be the first Bluesfest year that I'll enter as a student :( First announcement didn't blow me away (although that was the case last year too), Frank Turner would be great. But I think it'll depend on how many MUST see acts there end up being and whether individual tickets will just been too ridiculous or not. Also pending my normal Bluesfest crew too! But psyched for more announcements making my decision harder! How about you?

Well if I recall correctly we were almost dead center in the middle of crossroads for the Pogues, a bit infront of the mixing desk. I was only there with 2 other friends but by the time the gig was over I'd say there were about 15 of us in our mini mosh, wrestling on each others shoulders, forming huge lines of arms over shoulders and spinning circular scrum type moshes chanting "lets go fucking mental!" much to the absolute disgust of baby boomers sitting in their chairs having to move out of our way. Yeah, not exactly my proudest moment moving into a "hive-mind" mentality :P Oh so jealous I saw some of those communal undercover camp areas, they looked so good! And if you're interested, I'm slowly trying to blog my experience complete with some video. I haven't finished yet, and it's horribly unedited at this stage but anyways -

On paper 2011 was better, but 2012 blew it away! Highlights ... wow, The Specials, Seasick Steve, Trombone Shorty, Dallas Frasca, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Round Mountain Girls, Rosie Ledet, Seth Lakeman and Eileen Jewell ... but really, they almost all were! The Pogues was ... an experience, I wore my Irish Gaelic football top which attracted all these drunk Irish lads over and we just all had way too much to drink and had our own little mosh going on in the middle of Crossroads .... I suddenly found myself reverted back to my 18yr old self haha. The fact the weather held off, they put down wooden palates at the toilets/showers, deciding on Tent City over our own tents .. all made for a much better experience. I now have post Bluesfest Blues :(. How about yourself?

Hey, I've started a new clean profile to better gauge what and when I'm listening to stuff (OCD?). So I thought I'll add you to it.

We have an insane amount of Sideshows, has a pretty bad effect on the wallet but other then that its pretty perfect. Noel was amazing, sounded perfect, great setlist. No Wonderwall which was a bit of a shame, especially given his solo version is pretty similiar to the Ryan Adams one (more melodic basically). Noticed your going to Bluesfest. Majorly jealous. One of the best lineups I've ever seen at an Australian festival.

Cool. Pineapple Thief does take a few listens to get into them. I see your going to sound wave, best line up in years.

haha I find "real life" Morrissey fans are hard to come by! Now he's announcing a tour of Japan, Thailand and NZ but leaving Australia out so far! That's typical of him, I love him, but he's a prick! I've seen him 3 times but dying to see him once more. The line up is looking good this year for Bluesfest! Hard to top last year's though, that was incredible, but this year I'd say I'm most looking forward to - The Specials, Seasick Steve, Zappa plays Zappa, The Pogues, Eilene Jewll, Buddy Guy and Dallas Frasca .. but theres so much!

Oh man where to start is tough for Morrissey solo albums the compilation album "Bona Drag" is a great window of his early solo work. Otherwise "Vauxhall & I", "You are the Quarry" and the B-sides compilation "Swords" are great, the latter is all his latest B-sides. Oh and you're off to Bluesfest too! Who are you looking forward to seeing?

Glad you like PT. If you like that prog. sound you should check out Steven Wilson solo stuff or his collaboration with Aviv Geffen (Blackfield). If you get a chance check out the 'Pineapple Thief - Tightly unwound' great prog band. Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you - email/computer problems.
