What do we have to look foward to in 2008?

Well 2007 is over and we were treated to a pretty good year. Now it's time to look at what we have coming up in the new year. This year has the potential to be very good but of course it all depends on if our favorite artists deliver the music we expect.

Nas - Nigger

Much like his 2006 release, this album has started all kinds of controversy inside the Hip-Hop world and outside of it. Nas' second Def Jam release is scheduled for February and as of now alot of people aren't too sure what to expect. Hip-Hop is Dead was loved by critics and fans for the most part but some people didn't think it was that great, I guess I'd be part of the latter. The album wasn't bad but after just a week or two I got tired of it. Nas is supposed to get production from DJ Toomp, Jermaine Dupri, and others who should supply some nice beats, which fans think Nas has been missing out on on his past few releases. If Nas can give us a balanced album that actually reflects the album title, this could probably be the album of the year.

Lil' Wayne - Tha Carter III

It's been two years since Lil' Wayne has dropped a solo album but that hasn't damaged his popularity at all. Wheezy has become a one man movement that even Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson can't stop. Nonstop guest spots and mixtapes have put Wayne in a position that no one would have been able to see a couple years ago. This album has been getting pushed back since 2006 and lord knows how many tracks have leaked that were supposed to be on it. Love him or hate him you can't deny this is one of the most anticipated titles of 2008, we hopefully get to see if Wayne can finally deliver on an album.

The Game - Diary Of Compton (Title could change)

The Game managed to deliver a very solid album after his departure from G-Unit just a year ago and is scheduled to make his return in 2008. Although The Doctor's Advocate lacked the mainstream hits that made him a known figure in Hip-Hop, he managed to deliver what his fans wanted to hear. Game has the potential to be a better rapper than he is but he has to stop using the same formula over and over. To sum it up, please don't mention the following: Dr. Dre, 6'4s, 2Pac, Jay-Z, Ice Cube, 50 Cent, Eazy E, Snoop Dogg.
