TC Core

As most of you may know, TC started near the beginning of 2012 with 3 users; Chris, Zach, and Charlie. Chris had the genius idea of starting a community listen along of “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea” by Neutral Milk Hotel. The lack of the community joining may have been a downfall at the time, but it then shaped up to be something different.

As days passed by, our good friend Charlie discovered the power of playing YouTube videos in our chatroom. Once we started playing YouTube videos in the chatroom, listen alongs started happening less, and us three started becoming more carried away with da YouTubz. I think it’s a good time to mention the first video ever played in rock_and_pop_nmh history, “The King Of AssMilk Flowers”, which is a mashup of The King Of Carrot Flowers by Neutral Milk Hotel, and Tyler, The Creator’s “AssMilk”. Enjoy the first video on our TC CORE list.

Once this video played, it really did take things off the map for our “Community Listen Along” idea. We figured that we would get more people to participate in this listen along, and that everyone would be talking about music in a humble manner. But, yet again, the power of YouTube has totally changed the ideas and future plans we had about our chatroom. Us 3 members had planned on bringing lots of cool members at the time from R&P into our little social world that has been active for a week or so. Some members stayed, some members didn’t, and maybe the cause of this was the YouTube videos, but we will never know. Members such as Liveforver, I Wumbo, Fructose, Simone, and many more were featured in this chatroom back in the day.

I guess you could say things started to change once Charlie posted the “Yoga Girl” video, starting an epidemic of irrelevance and utter absurdity. > 2012 >Absurdity > Bad

This was also followed by a video that Chris posted. This video consisted of a fat, greasy haired man with small glasses eating 40 pizza rolls quickly and effectively. His immense breathing techniques have inspired us.

Also, please note that all 3 of these videos were played in the same night, along with many unfunny attempts to impress each other. Now, this was back when we had to have the fucking moderator play the video for us. I guess it’s safe to say that things flowed more smoothly back then when it came to YouTube videos, and competition for moderator was at an all-time high. This did have a lot of downfalls to it though. Whenever a moderator would disconnect by accident or his/her computer crashed, the moderator would not be there anymore, therefore resulting in no more YouTube videos playing until the moderator was back in control. The only way to solve this? Getting a group of people to refresh at the same time until the first person got moderator. Ah, good old TC days…

After more unfunny attempts, we then got a gem in our TC history. This is “Chuggo”, posted by our smooth casanova known as Charlie.

Time started passing more and more, and more people started joining and departing. We then had lots of newer members once Feburary came along, members such as “Pudding” (Trent), Britni, Rosiehr, Ryan_B, Ronald, Skywalker and Zoid (who was Dr. Satan at the time). Most of these members joined when the “moderator rule” wasn’t in effect anymore, which once again altered YouTube video playing because of the vast majority of YouTube videos being cut off on purpose. Many of you may remember a video that i had posted constantly, and i posted this constantly because i fucking felt like it. Actually, I always considered this video to be like Charlie’s Kpop videos (which are all so “wonderful”). I mean this in the way of saying how much the video was posted, because i have lost count of how much i posted this video.

This video will always remind me of how much i love cheese pizza.

There were also times where there would be a dry spell in video playing, and when this occured, Chris would pull out a classic video that would (at times) be left playing for over 20 minutes. Good times…

March was a defining month in TC history. There were yet again new members, and these members may have changed the style of social interaction. Mia and Alissa were these two members, who were also the first two members to start the “webcam interaction”, which many people either couldn’t do or wouldn’t do *COUGH CHARLIE COUGH*. Either way, it altered the way of communication, which i guess isn’t such a bad thing after all. I mean, it’s April and we are still here.

Once we had the “full group”, Charlie would then post a video that would go down in TC history yet again. Everytime i see this smile, it reminds me of why i live life..

And now, we end up here. Beginning of April. Still regulars in TC. I can’t really say that this is a bad thing though, since last.fm and Tinychat are my two loves.

Who knows what more there is to come, I mean, Charlie and I are starting a fucking hockey watch along, which is definitely not unanimously loved by all of the members, but who gives a shit? We are all part of TC and participating in a gay hipster dating session, amirite?

Boy, you guys should be proud that i didn’t have homework today.
