Woulda loved to catch Wilco, have heard nothing but great things. Nice picks on upcoming shows there, and you should definitely head to GvsB. We're doing some coverage on it so hopefully we'll run into you (look for a huge tower with a camera, haha!). Seen White Denim, though, a couple of times, and their energy is pretty great! Shabazz Palaces seems promising too. Have you listened to the new Bon Iver? Does it deserve the Pitchfork 9.5? :p

Indeed. Hoping another crazy dance party happens soon so I can find confetti throughout the city. Sufjan was so great! Appreciated the setting of that show and when he played Casimir Pulaski Day, tears streamed down my face! Any favorite moments for you and are you headed to any good shows in the future?

The actual tower was there, did you not see us?! Haha, yes I was there. That show got got the dance party of the summer award. I found random traces of confetti the next morning everywhere. CRAZY. Did you get to go see the Sufjan last October?

Ok - I think Michigan is pretty good too - based on my tour through his works, my rankings are (1) Seven Swans (2) Michigan (2.25) Illinoise :) Each album had great elements that I enjoyed -- really like the concept and complexity of themes. I'll have to listen to these quite a few more times to get a better feel. B

I now have all three of those albums - so far think Sevan Swans is my favorite but still listening to Illinoise. Really liked Swans though - thank you!! :)

I was listening to Sufjan Stevens tonight and figured I would peruse some libraries for new albums to download/wish list. I saw your total for Sufjan and thought for a second mhy page was screwed up lol. Proably a 'had to be there moment'. In any case - finding a lot of nice albums in your list. Thanks!

annaarroyo Amazing! It sucks going back to reality though. I didn't make it down to Houston, but I'm going to Bonnaroo so I figure it evens out! And to answer your question I will just say even when Arcade Fire aren't in top form, chances are it will still be better than just about any other show. P.S. Did you see Cyndi Lauper joined them for a couple songs at Jazz Fest on Friday? I'm so jealous.

mynameisanh How was the show?! Did you see or get freelance whale's 7" split with foals? I tried to but the merch guy told me foals' record label recalled all of them due to a mix up with their track (which I was aware of but I wanted it anyway) so I tried to get him to give me one for free since they're all gonna be trash anyway... but to no avail. Pretty good gig though.

I saw the strokes as well, haha.. I was part of the crowd that had to rush the barricades to get in and I almost got trampled in the process.. Good times indeed. Excited about freelance whales this week? I decided to see foals instead but I'm going to go down to Austin on thursday so I can see them both - it's gonna be my second time seeing freelance whales and third time for foals, woohoo.

I've only been to sxsw recently and it was definitely the highlight of my year so far. Saw lots of great bands (favorites being bombay bicycle club, jonquil & errors). Did you go as well?

Nice! I was able to get one pit ticket, I need one more but it's looking pretty impossible. I can't believe how fast tickets went. And I know, figures we get the one opener this tour that isn't EITS, The National or Local Natives. Lame!

Dallas and Austin for sure! Houston is a maybe. I mean it's such a rarity they come here and they're so great live so why not go all out. Their openers are a huge plus, too. Are you going to the Dallas show?

esther925 what's up! Yeah, I made it to the Robyn concert. It was sweeter than cotton candy. Highlights included when she sang a stylized version of Dancing Queen (but only one verse) and every person in the room was singing along. Also, she had 2 lengthy encores, ending with "Konichiwa Bitches".

I love the new Weezer. I'm also an admitted fan of most everything they do, but this shows how I've been just getting by on the past couple records. I love Hurley so much I bought it on vinyl! Question, did you recommend the first Albert Hammond Jr record to me like 3-4 years ago? For some reason I think you did - I just bought it this weekend on a whim and I'm thinking "solid gold!" Don't know why I waited so long...

campodelverano I think I like Compass better than Jim because it was that indie element. Jim was TOO close to the style he was imitating (motown) and there wasn't enough to make it something new. Kind of like Amy Winehouse was a little retro but enough modern pop to attract attention...

I just finished listening to the album for the second time. My consensus: Love- Completely Exposed & Your Sweet Boom. Like- Compass & The Ring. Then there are a few that a kind of like and the rest are blah. I was sad that the first two songs were so great and then gave me really high expectations for the rest. What do you think about the similarities between the openings of Coma Chameleon and Charlotte Gainsbourg's Trick Pony. I'd go see him if I had the chance. I really like old soul music and Motown, but I'm glad that on this new album he takes some of that influence but throws in some modern indie into the mix with the help of Beck (so I heard).
