A list of ugly, funny-looking or strange people in music we love! The good thing about rock/heavy metal music is that you don't have to look like a supermodel to be a star! Talent is what matters!

Ronnie James Dio was an all-star. An icon, a multi-instrumentalist and generally a magnificent singer. Ronnie was 160 cm tall, and looked like a gnomy little elf, but he had the voice of an angel. One of the grandfathers and pioneers of the Heavy Metal genre, and a rock icon! He influenced thousands of bands with his enormous voice and his warm personality. All hail the little man with the huge voice!
Lemmy Kilmister - Motörhead, Hawkwind.

Lemmy is a soon to be 65 year old machine in the rock and roll business. He's been a musician as long as he can remember, and is still going strong with his machinery, Motörhead. He is also known for his ugliness. But Lemmy isn't ugly in a frightning way. He's ugly in a majestic and dominating way. With his "signature" been and his extreme eyebrows he looks like an anti-hero from a comic. His personality, his voice and his looks combined makes him an icon for rock and roll music.
Klaus Meine - Scorpions

Klaus Meine has been fronting the german heavy metal rockers Scorpions since 1970, and for 40 years his voice has been recognized all over the world. His voice has been a trademark voice in german metal since the late 70's and many classic, power and thrash metal bands are inspired by this little man. And he looks like a breech birth, that's for sure!
Udo Dirkschneider - U.D.O. , Accept

Perhaps the shortest lead singer in metal ever. With his 152 cm and his orc-a-like looks he frontet Accept in the 70's, 80's and some parts of the 90's. Despite his horrifying looks, his voice is unique, inspiring the speed and thrash metal bands in the german metal scene for many decades. His sharp-edged metal screams and almost gargling voice is easily recognized, and he can for sure never be replaced!
Kai Hansen - Gamma Ray, Helloween, Iron Savior, Avantasia

Kai Hansen is often credited for being "the man who created power metal", and his legacy is one of the biggest in the metal scene. The man is a living legend. But also this german metal hero looks like a gnome, and his height is about 160 cm. Is this a sign of a disease in the metal community in germany, or is it just a common fact that german lead singers in heavy metal are short and look like gnomes? I don't know! Kai started Helloween, then he went tired of those guys and started Gamma Ray, and he has been there ever since! A true legend!
Ozzy Osbourne - Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath

Ozzy is known to be more than just the prince of darkness. Besides being one of the heavy metal innovators, he also is known for his numerous scandals, and also because of his looks. He was not always ugly, but because of drug-addiction, alcoholism and hard living in the 70's and 80's he's now one of the ugliest fuckers in rock history. But we still love him! Because of his voice and music.. Not for the scandals!
Dee Snider - Twisted Sister

Dee has been fronting the american Heavy Metal superstars Twisted Sister since 1976, and has always been one of the rolemodels in metal. He also carried the flag to battle when the uber-conservative christian bitch Tipper Gore went to war against heavy metal in 1985. Dee Snider looks like a crossover between a giraffe and a frog, but he still is one of the nicest persons and one of the best metal singers to have ever been on the planet!
Steven Tyler - Aerosmith

How the hell can an adoreable creature like Liv Tyler be the daughter of this monster? Not only known for his terrifying looks, but also for his asshole-attitude, Steve Tyles has been fronting boogie-hardrockers in Aerosmith for centuries, almost.. A great voice in rock, an authoritarian lead-singer and a stereotypichal rockstar. The one thing I don't get is how Liv can be his daughter. I bet she's adopted!
Geddy Lee - Rush

When you see Geddy in an interview, you instantly forget about his looks, because the man is pure niceness and kindness, and his voice is like silk and diamond at the same time. He's a part of the great prog rock tripod Rush, which is the best progrock band in the world, hands down. He looks like an escaped animal, but he sings like an angel, and his attitude is so nice, he instantly gets a star in the "like"-book!

Mikael is not THAT ugly, but his teeth and mouth-system reminds me of….Yeah.. Hell! But though he may never washed his teeth, his voice covers for this. And more! Known for combining extreme metal with calm prog rock, this man is the mastermind of metal masters Opeth. In addition to be a musical genius, this man is so nice and so kind it's almost unbelieveable. No rockstar attitude at all, just a regular guy playing his music, and his relationship with the fans is unique! A fantastic man and fantastic musician!
Alice Cooper - Alice Cooper

Vincent Furnier, the "man behind the makeup" has been a grand pioneer of shock rock as well as heavy metal and garage rock. He's a true legend and is known for his shocking horror shows on stage and his creepy voice! And he looks like an escaped mental-patient. He is indeed ugly, but he is also a master of rock and roll!
