Pinata is one of my favorites of the year. I love its cohesion. While I'm still only a casual Gibbs listener, Madlib's production really shone through. What did you think of Jesse Boykins III album? The first third is nice but the rest is tedious to listen to IMO.

Fancy never gets old. Gotta leave the sudden beat drop at the end! Haha, IV Play sucked. He admits that it was just an contractual agreement dropped in order to get out of his deal w/ Def Jam anyway.

I felt Love King from first listen but my favorite song of his, Fancy, appears on his second release. You need a link for IV Play?

After listening to Dream's EP, I think our boy has peaked. Culture, OutKast and Lake Michigan are nice tho. I may be the only person who'll choose Love King as my favorite album of his. The first two are dope too. IV Play was weak but even then, he had some cuts on there as well.

I liked all of SZA's debut except for the last two tracks. They sounded like bland indie pop. Isaiah's tape peaked after the first six joints but was still solid IMO. I skimmed The-Dream's EP before dl'ing. Two tracks sound nice. The rest I'll have to really listen to when I give it a full-on listen later on. What's your favorite Dream album?

Oxymoron sounded like an average major label hip hop album IMO. Soulo lost his spark after Control System, for sure. ITA on Jay Rock. I never really checked for him before but his features as of late are impressive. I'll definitely check out his next project. Both his and Kendrick's sophomore release are slated to drop this year. That may reverse TDE's fortunes. Then again, Isaiah and Sza's debuts are two of my favorites of the year. Is The-Dream's EP worth checking out?

Hopefully. I actually wasn't all that impressed with Soulo's latest. I only liked about 6-7 of the 15 tracks. I think TDE has lost a little bit of steam, to tell you the truth. Did you ever check it out? No problem on the recommendation.

Yup, ain't nothing special about it though. If you wasn't feeling him or his other tapes this ain't gon be the tape to change your mind. And yeah, he's really no different then other trap rappers, and I feel like without his affiliation with Future and Gucci niggas probably wouldn't listen to him as much. Got some bangers like every other trap rapper though. So that always makes him listenable you know.

Detroit is the techno capital so I know he has some real heat in his crates. Yeah, that's the title! I just found out about it. I'm glad he's still in the game since new rappers come and go so fast these days. Since you liked Chance's tape, you might like this dude too: pellyeah.com

Ain't really heard much from him, I downloaded his most recent mixtape "The Blue M&M" and really didn't like it. When be features on other people's shit he's tolerable though. You see Scooter dropped his mixtape yesterday?

Yeah, I checked it out on Spotify. I also checked out a few of their videos. Is he a dance DJ? Did you know that Scotty is coming out w/ a new mixtape?

You should check out the Purple Album. It was really the only good one out of those tapes he did with Thugger, Peewee and Migos. Not much Gucci though, could've passed for a Young Thug mixtape. And hell yeah it's fire! Good features too! Wait till you hear the song Bet Money, K Camp killed that hook!

Most of the legendary Chicago house dudes never released full-lengths. The few who did have seen their efforts go long out print. Frankie Knuckles' In The Mix and Lidell Townsell's Harmony are two such LPs that are worth checking out if you can find them. I feel the same about Azari & III's album. Hungry for the Power is catchy AF tho. How'd you find out about them?

It really is. It's almost scary how fast time flies. I'm pleasantly surprised to see copies of JWTL still circulating TBH. I know that it's HAARRDD to find on vinyl. Believe me, I've tried to track down a copy on wax for years. How is the job going? Interesting stuff you've been listening to BTW. I stole Azari & III from your charts. Never heard of them before.

You know it! I promised my current job that I'd stay for a year so by March of next year, I'm out of here, man. I've been in NYC a lot lately scoping out potential new digs. I'm really feeling Queens and parts of BK so far. Jersey is also an option. D.C., ATL and maybe LA are still contenders tho. I've never been to N.O. but everyone I know who has always came back w/ some wild stories. Cool, I know she looked familiar. Was your copy of JWTL used? I copped a sealed copy from eBay years ago when I was first exploring house music. Louis is a legend.

I don't feel like mine has really gotten underway either yet. I have some things planned tho including a possible trip to LA in August. I'm headed to VA on Sunday. Sango's North is prime lat-night vibe music. I see you've also gotten up on Journey With the Lonely. That's a classic. The N.O. trip sounds fun.

What's going on, man?! I also haven't been as active on this site as I was. My schedule has been kinda jammed in recent months. You ready for the summer? I see Sango, Alice Smith and The Internet on your charts. Damn, my taste is making its way into your headphones! LMAO. Who is that in your avi? I've seen that pic before but can't place where.
