Veckatimest. Hands down! I have much appreciation for their older (and newer) work as well, but I think Department of Eagles nailed it with In Ear Park as my second fav Grizzly Bear-related album. What about you?

I should be getting ready for bed now (I have a rather infantile bedtime, because I have to get up at 5 A.M. for work, every day), but I CANNOT STOP LISTENING to B.B. King! My music addiction at the moment. I absolutely love jazzy blues. "Please Love Me" (the 1964 Live At The Regal version, which is a bit faster-paced than the album versions, I've noticed, though I love them both), is a repeat fixture of my iPod right now, I just want to dance to it until I drop on the floor in a heap from exhaustion. Anyway, sorry, I'm rambling, I don't really know / talk to anyone else who loves the blues, so I suppose I need somebody to gush to - somewhat nonsensically and giddily - about them. Anyway, I'm thinking I might try to delve into and consume (with my ears!) the entire collections of a different blues artist every week or so, I have a habit of listening to the same few beloved songs over and over and then finally listening to whole albums and realizing what I was missing, haha.

Holy harmonica! After seeing that video, I don't know whether I feel inspired to find that harmonica I bought all those years ago, with the intention of mastering it, or whether I shouldn't even bother, because I can't touch that kind of cool! I'm listening to more Big Mama Thornton now (you know, my great-grandmother was known as "Big Mama", and my great-grandfather, "Pappy Jack", and now that think about it, those are pretty awesome nicknames ... ). I've concluded that listening to the blues, when I have, well, the blues, is better than artists like Bon Iver, whom I adore, don't get me wrong, and Bon Iver (Justin Vernon), in particular, conveys heartbreak and pain beautifully, but there is something about these old blues artists that no matter how down and out they sing about being, there's this underbelly vibe of "but that's just life, and it'll all be okay" that makes me feel better, whereas, Bon Iver just makes me proceed to sob into my bedsheets and feel sorry for myself, ha-ha.

Haha, yes, that would be swell, especially seeing as I have a very "obnoxious" American accent, that is rather nasally, and I strongly detest the sound of my own voice! Of course, I suppose I wouldn't want the voice of Mississippi John Hurt, per se, because well, it would sound funny on a girl, haha, but I could go for some raspy bluesy-ness.

Awh, brilliant, I'm glad you like 'em. Thank you very much for your kind words, means a lot you saying that. In terms of vocals, it will be either me or the bassist who sing, just in the process of writing lyrics and playing around with how we want them to sound, thinking mainly something surrounding reverb, that sort of echo that The Black Angels etc get. We'll see, will keep you up to date with it all man. Stay safe!

Om mig

A keeper of doves.

I found a little plot of land in the garden of Eden. It was dirt and dirt is all the same.
