Hi, thanks for contacting me. I do listen to all kinds of music. I tend to go on sprees of one kind of music but I always listen to Jazz in the evenings. My favorites area Sidney Bechet, Ben Webster, PeeWee Russell, Johnny Hodges, Dave Brubeck, Art Pepper, Paul Desmond, Charley Parker Dizzy Gillespie, Artie Shaw and Louis Armstrong. Wonder if you've ever read The History of Jazz by Ted Gioia? Anyway, happy listening!

Om mig

JAZZ IS A METAPHOR FOR LIFE...

when did i first begin to think of jazz as a metaphor for life...?
most certainly it was after hearing this quote from a great jazz musician:

"It’s the group sound that’s important, even when you’re playing a solo. You not only have to know your own instrument, you must know the others and how to back them up at all times. That’s jazz." --- Oscar Peterson
