My top 15 guitar player of all time!

1. Joe Satriani- The Master teacher they call him, some say the pupil is better than the teacher but Satch has more playing experience than Vai. Even though Vai is more diverse technically than Satch. However Satch is style is pure maginifecent and amazing. His style is really exicting and really emotitive. A true god! Best track - Flying in a Blue Dream.

2. Steve Vai- Vai has everything unqiuness, emotion, speed, musical knowlegde. He is a phrasing master, and has even re-written some guitar scales and created new ones. Taught by Satch and surpassed him in some areas but he is still the pupil. Vai's sound and style has evolved with his ever growing collection of albums check out real illusions. Thing is with vai his style really fits the track or genre he plays too like a glove Vai can also sing well. Best track- For the Love of God

3. John Petrucci- Petrucci is a total god, not only because he is lead guitarist for Dream theater but he is a supreme legend. The man can do it all Jazz, Blues, Folk, Metal, Rock, Funk, Acoustic every style is built into Petrucci's vast musical libary. He is the true musican every faithful to putting everything into it. Petrucci has speed and accurary pretty much nailed to a tee, and his phrasing is beautiful everytime. His a very verstile guitarist of all styles. Best track- Solo on As I am by Dream Theater.

4. Jimi Hendrix- Without Hendrix there would be no Vai, no Satch very few great guitarist he was the one man who inspired all the greats to pick up guitar in the first place. The reason why Hendrix is 4th not 1st is that his style all though ground breaking and the first true guitar god. Hendrix couldnt play at todays speeds however the era he played in didnt demand sound barrier breaking speed. His songs are amazingly structured and is style is genius the strat master. Best Track- Little Wing

6. Jimmy Page- Page was also one of those guitarist who inspired a generation. He wasnt technically brilliant but his licks and riff writing was top notch. He was also an amazing acoustic player and his folk inspirations on some of the Led Zep records were pure brilliance. Best track- solo on Heartbreaker by Led Zep

7. Jeff Beck- Jeff Beck has been underated for quite a well hinding under big name shadows such as Page and Clapton. But quite frankly Jeff Beck shits on clapton lol. He is style is a mix of rauchy blues and rock is very very unqiue hardly plays with a pick and uses so much vibrato to give each lick a new feel. His solo albums and genius creation of musical sandwichs of seeminglessly incompatable genres e.g. Rhythum and Bass with guitar and dance music too. He also created the Seymour Duncan JB pickup which i have in my guitar which is so good its untrue qudos for that. Best track- Brush with the Blues

5. Paul Gilbert- The man is a speed demon and he is so fast it will blow your mind. I dont no much about the man my style he used to play in Racer X and his solo albums are excellent. A young japanese fan once told him all you could do is speed got to give it to Gilbert for taking the cricitsm of his playing and taking it to a new level and new level so fast and beautiful to listen to makes you go wow!

6.Stevie Ray Vaughan- Probably the best blues player the world has even heard. Most people would agree with me right there. He blew the blues world away with his flashy playing and his excellent feel and phrasing of his licks. Like Hendrix its such a shame he isnt with us now. Best track- Texas Flood.

7. Jeff Healey- The dude is blind and plays sometimes with guitar flat on his lap you should here the guy if you've never heard him play then ive just enlightened you. A blind guitarist so emotive and his feel and phrasing of his solos so beautiful they could make you cry. Very unrated and not very well heard of but this guy can play and sing as well lol. Best track- See the light

8. David Gilmour- I love Gilmour's stlye is so beautiful and very different one of the ground breaking guitarist in the 70s. He is a very good guitarist and good singer too. Best track- solo on Brick in the Wall part 2.

9. Richie Blackmore- Richie is one of those guitarist that everyone knows just from the name. The guy who wrote Smoke on the Water the most famous riff of all time!!!!!!! That says it all no there is more. Blackmore is technically class and a pentatonic master he breaths fire in his playing, and wrote some of the best songs of all time for Deep Purple. Best track- Solo on Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water.

10. Pete Townsend- One of the Best rhythum (cant spell i know) of all time wrote some the catchest tunes every and has one of the best tones in the business still to this day anyone see him at Live Aid wow now theres a guitart player.

11. Eric Clapton- Some of you might say what! why is Clapton all the way down there on your list, well friends let me tell you. Clapton when his was around at the Time of the John Mayall and Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton album when he was young he was amazing and during his time with The yarbirds and Cream but in his latter years he became a over confident and pompus with nothing new to offer the guitar world. He got creamed by John Mayall's newest guitar only recently 2003 think it was Buddy Whittingham who creamed clapton in guitar off im not saying clapton's rubbish just way too overated. Best track- Sunsine of Your Love

12. Kirk Hammett- Kirk has also inspired a generation of young metal talent and has written some of best riffs and solos of metal history what a player.

13. BB King- Yes the old god the king of blues got to love BB King what a legend. Great guitar player inspired a generation.

14. Geoff Whitehorn- Check him out it will explain everything why he's only my list he is amazing! Plays with Procul Harum. Very Underated.

15. Yngwie Malmsteen- Cant say i like him because he shows off to much but he is an amazing play so accurate and can play classical stuff so well. Best track- Cavalino Rampante

Other players who are so so good but didnt quite make my list…Buddy Guy, Robin Trower (check him out sick), Gary Moore (SRV was better), dave mustaine, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhodes, Eric Johnson (what a player), Joe Perry, Slash.
